Who else is waiting the impossible wait?

These are my two aprox 18ish (not really sure) week old New Hampshire reds. They are typical teenagers. Their favorite activities are dustbathing and preening. The one on the left (Barbara) is not as developed as the one on the right (Martha). I don't want to rush them....yes I do, I just can't. Ms. Martha Washington looks ready and has for a couple of weeks. It really has been hot here though. We are supposed to get up to 100 today.

I GOT MY FIRST EGG!!!!!!!

It's a small one, but she knew to lay it in the next boxes (I didn't lock her in the coop and had no round objects in the boxes) and its has a perfect shell! I'm beyond happy! My second oldest chicken is getting red in the face, hopefully she is next.

I have BO's, PR's, Aussies, Partridge rocks, and red sexlinks. At least 2 or each breed look like they might be laying soon--red and growing combs. There is someone spending time in the boxes, just no eggs yet.
