I thought I was the only one in our home who was anxious for the eggs to arrive, that is until this morning. My husband woke to to a recount of his dream which focused on our smallest chicken squatting and laying one egg, then another and another and another, then piles of eggs. Of course, the first thing we had to do was run out and check for eggs, and, of course there were none.
However, what we now are certain we have is happy chicks. Richard set up their nipple waterer, which keeps the water cool all day (with the help of a frozen bottle of water each morning and evening. Drinking clean cool water, eating grapes, grass and frozen bread each day. They only need to hear me unlock our back door and they come running.
They are fun and sweet and eventually they will stop being free-loaders!
