Who has purchased eggs from ebay ? and what was your hatch rate ?

Well I had a great eBay seller who packed great...all arrived great: small air cells and none rolling. She was the nicest helpful person too! These were shipped half way across the country and ALL are developing with 6 days left! :) I've never had such good luck with eBay eggs. I'm guessing it's due to good packing, fresh eggs, and good well fed parent stock. They are a variety of bantam Cochins. Some do have saddled air cells now that they're older, so I'll just have to watch those and hope they hatch ok. If anyone wants bantam Cochins, her name is Roslyn from Danville AK.
I'm glad one of us has has had a good experience with shipped/ebay eggs. Where is every one from ? I'm from England.

This is what my egg looks like and it's day 15

In my honest opinion you will find some very good and upfront breeders on eBay and the you will have the scamers who go to kroger and by 99 cent per dozen eggs and sell them for 20 bucks on fleabay it's like any thing else you need to take the good with the bad most breeders selling on eBay can be found here on byc and will stand behind the eggs they sell for fertility issues that are found and will replace them for you at no charge if you find the eggs you bought are all clears but the postal service is the real enemy to shipped eggs as 99 percent of the problems that we have with shipped eggs occurs during transit from the seller in route to the buyer so it's hard to blame the breeders for detached air cells cracked shells and the like, your best bet is to avoid the postal service all together and try to source eggs within driving distance for pick up,,,, just my 2 cents

3BirdGirlz, that's great to hear!! I'm quite optimistic for my upcoming batches of eggs. :)

El pollo Rey, I COMPLETELY agree with you there. I've never had a problem with local eggs. It's a pity I don't live in a good farming/chicken community. I wouldn't have to take the shipped egg risk as much. :)

Georg, it's kinda hard to tell what's going on in your egg. :( (which I'm sure is exactly the cause of your frustration and worry!)
So cool that you're from England, I've always wanted to go (closest I've been was a 6 week holiday in Australia).
I live in the geographical middle of North Carolina. :)

I bought eggs from a seller named CoupsCoops, and she was a trainwreck of a liar.

All of my eggs were infertile save 2 (ordered 10), and only one egg made it to hatch. The egg that DID hatched produced the wrong color bird. When I tried to very reasonably work with the seller, she kept lying about her husband being injured, and that she doesn't know anything about eggs, blah blah blah. I gave her a month, then filed a Paypal claim. Well, she knew enough about eggs at that point to lie to Paypal so they would deny the claim.

Then I went to my bank, filed a claim with them (they gave me the money back yay!), and contacted Ebay to let them know they had an abusive seller. Ebay was very interested to know that a seller was asking for Paypal transfers outside of auctions (like she did with me), and wiped her account off the face of the site.

Enjoy my 30 dollars, you snake.

coupscoops ? What state did the eggs ship from if you don't mind me asking and what breed of bird was she attempting to sell eggs from ???

I think it is wise to give sellers the benefit of the doubt with shipped eggs. Until the last 6 I got I had really high fertility, some just quit. I am not so happy with my frizzle polish eggs. Not very clean and covered in marker pen. Of course, I really want one or two of thees to hatch.

I am also from the UK Georg. I live in North Wales near to Chester.
