Who is walk who here?! Please, help w/ leash pulling!!

I have a very powerful pit bull who is very smart and if not distracted she heels at my side beautifully! but if we take her for walks in public places or where there may be squirrels, she ignores a choke chain like it's not even there. I do not want to yank her off her feel by her neck because that has been proven to cause throat damage in dogs, plus it is very hard on my hands. It became a real chore to walk her. I always thought prong collars were cruel until I finally did some research and then bought one. What a difference it has made in Bailey! Walking her is now a joy both for her and for me. I no longer worry about her yanking me around if she gets distracted. She walks beautifully and is more relaxed. The prong collars are greatly misunderstood. The ends of the prongs are very dull...they do not poke into the skin. They only apply an even pressure around her neck unlike a choke collar which applies uneven pressure across the front of the throat.
