who likes to read

OMG I do the same thing, I mostly read classic also. Those are the best, and collect them. I enjoy pilgrams progress and the Canterbury Tales, though Beowolf taxes my to the limit. I love Dickens, and CS Lewis.

CS Lewis, definitely. I can't stand Dickens, though. Of course, it's been a few years since I last read him, so who knows. One of my favorite fiction works is Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson. Everything about it appeals to me, and I usually get hit with a wave of nostalgia for times long gone whenever I start reading it. I also am a HUGE fan of J.R.R. Tolkien.

Classics tend to become my favorites as well.

Good to meet some fellow nerds.

I don't like the Lord of the Rings! To me it is very boring! I just couldn't get through it...I did like the Hobbit though.

I don't like fantasy much.
I hope I don't have to read Beowulf! I liked David Copperfield and Great Expectations but Dickens does get a little too sentimental.

We are reading Jane Eyre for a read-aloud. It is good, but sad.

I've always wanted to lead a class discussing Beowulf, Grendel, and The Thirteenth Warrior. I just think that would be so fun.

But seriously, the first time I tried I couldn't get past the first chapter. Once I got through that, the rest was awesome!

I love to read but I always feel a bit *let down* or sad once I finish a book I have been reading for days. I just get so into them. I just hate for the story to be over. Recently read a book I got at resale called Uglies.Turns out it is a sci-fi series and there are 3 more books to read(pretties, specials, and extras),so I am off to the library to order the next one.

I can't do Dickens, any Dickens. Ugh.

However, I've destroyed a copy of Les Miserables via re-reading. I just adore that book.

Anyone here do paperbackswap.com? It's pretty cool

that sounds interesting, I may have to check it out. I like folklore and history, period classics like Little Women and some recent fiction if it sounds interesting.
