Who Still has their Christmas tree up besides me?

I usually have mine up until mid March, this year it went down on xmas day. Last year it didn't go up at all. I'm the only one with 'tree spirit.'

are we related?

ok, my hubby was supposed to be here by christmas, and he's not here yet. my trees still up because clearly it's not christmas yet!
we'll take it down after he gets here.

Mine has argued that for a while too, the tree must come down. I then ask him where the tree will be for the next 11 months and just how he is planning on transporting it back and forth. The garage is full of his boy toy cars and furniture from his old company that they were going to just throw out. No room for my tree. So clearly, the easiest option is to just leave it where it is and ignore it for the next 11 months. Problem solved.

It's coming down Saturday. I wait for Epiphany to happen and then down it goes. It's a fresh tree we cut ourselves in the forest Thanksgiving weekend. It stays in water in the backyard until December 23rd. We bring it in and set it up but we wait until December 24th to decorate it. It smells great, looks very pretty. I hate when we take them down.

This year's tree:

Today is the 12th Day of Christmas. I NEVER take decorations down until after ALL of Christmas is complete. IMO we have WAY too much commercialism before and way too LITTLE true HOLY DAY season celebrated. By the way, for those who do not like the phrase "Happy Holidays," the origin of the word holiday is "holy day." If you want a great response to "Happy Holidays," try "And happy Holy Days to you, too!"

Advent begins 4 weeks before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve.
Christmas BEGINS on Christmas Day and ends with Epiphany's beginning on January 6th.

As much as I can in my own little way, I've decided that next year I will use whatever influence I have to spread the celebration of Christmas over the entire Christmas Season: December 25th through January 5th.

Took ours down on Tuesday and put away all of the 'inside' decorations. The house now seems drab.

Outside lights and decorations are still up. It's supposed to warm up this week end and I will then put them away until next year.
