Why am I finding these? My birds seem to be of the utmost health.

Possible causes in my eyes:
Stress (wildfires)
Lack of grit (doesn’t entirely make sense)
Diet (they haven’t been getting as much greens?)
Or...something else?

What feed do you use?
Layer feed, from Scratch and Peck. Whole grain. (Most of it is partially ground, actually.)
I know y'all advised against it, because of them picking through it, but I truly don’t see them do this. I watch them eat at least twice a week, and I don’t see it.
Plus, I usually make a mash.
Rant over.
And the soil has real rocks in it. Idk whether they were eating them tho.
We are heading home today, and I’m gonna make sure they have their rock, not oyster shell, grit from here on. We forgot it for the trip.
