Why does raw meat have to taste soo good?

Not all sushi and sashimi is served raw, just so you know. Many, even those involving seafood, are cooked, pickled, etc. such as unagi over rice, the eel is usually grilled.

What about it? I don't understand what your question is. Getting ill from cooked anything could be an assortment of issues - from a persons own dirty hands to cross contamination...or other things.

Every single time I eat cooked tuna I vomit for almost hours on end. I've eaten it at different places as well and they are all very sanitary (trust me I don't eat anywhere that isn't sanitary), so I don't know.

I love sushi, sashimi, and raw beef. Before I knew I liked sushi (and sashimi, for that matter) I thought I hated it. Turns out I was wrong. But I have been a lover of raw beef since my early teens. In my twenties, I would CRAVE it and buy USDA Prime grade beef cut into chunks - for either stew or skewer "kabob" type cooking - and sit in my car outside of the grocery to consume it.

I still love it, but I no longer deplete my red blood cells every month, so I haven't had that driving need to HAVE SOME RAW BEEF RIGHT NOW for quite a few years. It's not a craving, but after reading this thread, I think I'll get myself some high grade beef chunks tonight.

Is that old ad for real? Sanitized tapeworms? I wonder how you go about sanitizing tapeworms?
I never tried sushi and think I will pass on trying it. I love seafood but I will stay with the cooked.

OMG,raw BACON!? Is this an inside joke or something? Can't you die from that? I used to date a girl that would eat raw hamburger meat, but she was crazy as a bat. I had no idea other people did/do this. :/

HI. Yes we are not used to it in our society. Many other countries eat raw meat more often than us. They would not be used to eating burgers and French fries.

Its perfectly safe so long as its totally fresh and prepared properly. The raw chicken I ate was from a hen that only minutes before had been walking about in the garden.

Also when we eat the raw meat its not just a slab of bloody meat on a plate. Its chopped , or minced, mixed with herbs and other ingredients or chilli (depending on the dish).

I am not a crazy raw meat person. I eat mostly cooked meat. Just occasionally have the raw dishes.

The dog thing is no problem either. Never cook it or freeze it. Most dogs will eat any sort of disgusting thing (to us) and be fine. As most people regularly de worm and treat for parasites regularly, then that will take care of any parasites (if any) found in the meat.

I use to eat my steaks medium rare. Love it. But since I've seen all the videos on commercial meat industry I have decided to switch to a plant based diet. No more chicken, pork or beef. I will however eat fish.
