Winter is coming...

Northern indiana. The humidistat takes the inside humidity and turns the fan on once it reaches a certain level and turns it off once the humidity level has gone to an acceptable level. You can adjust it to the humidity level you would like. Its really neat but costly. About 30 bucks.
Ah ok, I thought you were up here. I CRS
Will be interesting to see how it does...are you also monitoring outside humidity?

Yep, I know what they are and how they work...but...
...do you have a link to the product you bought?

We are putting a hydrometer in there to check the humidity. This all was installed yesterday but we plan to monitor and adjust accordingly. Not sure on the product info but i was told that home depot only sells two but only stocks this one. It was around 34.75 if i remember what he told me:confused:. It works properly from what i can tell. It was running this morning.

HyGrometer...measures humidity in air.
HyDrometer measures the specific density of liquids.

Can't get coop to have less humidity than what is outside.
Too bad the thing doesn't read both inside and outside and react accordingly.

Yea my SO corrected me after i posted lol. This stuff is more his ballpark. Im just in it for the eggs and cuddles;).

We live west of Sand Springs OK, have three Buff Orpington and three Barred Rocks this style coop, https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/my-mid-life-crisis-coop.47761/
I made the windows permanently open (Harsdware cloth) and intend to put full plexiglass in the north and west windows for the wind, and 3/4 high sheets in the other two windows. This will leave two openings 5” high and 60” long.
Once I figure out how to post a pic I will.
There are several perches with the highest ones allowing their heads to see out the windows. They’re always on those two perches.
It’s our first winter, any comments are helpful.
