Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Quail question answered, got 2 eggs tonight.

And now that I have 2 kinds to compare I see that the Jumbo Brown started first, and now the Tibetan Tuxedo has shown she is a she. I am quite happy with all girls for now, I'm not hatching anything til next year anyway. More little eggs for Ethan's breakfasts! He likes them more than the EE eggs. Anyone tried blowing them out like chicken eggs? I think the quail eggs would be really pretty in crafts...

TO I agree, the food pyramid is upside down. The Weston Price Foundation recommends pastured protein and fats on the bottom, followed by veggies, whole grains, and fruit, in that order. What has following gov't advice gotten us - oh yeah, fat and sick!

FT sorry about the roo loss. Iv'e had 3 chicks go missing this year - poof, gone. And all pullets too!

Never fails, the little roos are the last to go, or maybe the first to run from danger, lol.

dk, hope things turn out ok for hubby.

Not feeling that well tonight, was going to do tomatoes but scratched that idea too so....

Good Morning Everyone! Pretty weird bl4 was just thinking about you last night. Glad your ok! Man dk that's scary about the DH hope they figure out what's going on soon! Haven't seen the lights in a long time you shoulda called us.

Tiki love the colors on that EE! Looks so cuddley! WCc hope those horses are found soon before something bad happens
fl.gif
Cind hope your feeling better today!

FT like I said before never a dull moment.

Glad you got River back home! It is odd that Jim hasn't chimed in maybe it is his internet. Have a nice big pile of wood to split out back wish it was going to be nicer out today. Was thinking yesterday that I can put the really big chunks in the bucket on the tractor and roll them off on to the splitter. Did I mentionthat I really really like the Blue Mule?
lau.gif
That in itself is going to be a real back saver! Normally I roll the big ones up on a plank or even had to go so far as to take the tires off the splitter to get it closer to the ground. Even then it was a "B". Gettin old ain't for sissys! Hate to fire up the splitter and have to shut down and wait for it to cool off to tarp it. Think I might be able find something to do inside.

Peatwo is crowing more! Think his new plumage is making him feel more masculine. Now if the hens would feel more feminine.

tiki244 : I beleive the reason Celiac is more common now is due to Drs becoming more aware of it. In Europe, people are tested for it regularly. Unfortunately here in the US, its often misdiagnosed. My daughter has Type 1 diabetes and because of this, it is common practice to test for other auto immune disorders-she tested positive for Celiac.

TO: I think in some ways its easier other ways its harder. At least this becomes a way of life early on and less to miss. On the other hand, so many things like bday parties etc we have to plan ahead for.

Ok my 18 yr old just hit a tree in the driveway and tore her front bumper off-got to run!!!!

Good wet morning! Man AngieB--what a way to start off the day! Was she leaving for school? At least she was in your driveway and not going down a road....when I read "hit a tree" my heart jumped!
Carol--I sure hope you and your friend found her critters!..When mine get out they only go in the hay field and eat or across the road in their hay field...I hate when they cross the road with the hill and the blind curve...one time I stopped cars in both directions until we got them across! The people in the front were very helpful. Dh said," why dont you just let them go, it's making a line!?" I told him not to be stupid! Sure let them go past and then a huge semi would come over the hill and smack into the horses...or me! Since I was standing in the middle of the road...that was the time I told him to go and get sweet feed and where it was...he came back with pigeon feed! And no, horses DONT like it...

So rainy day here...of course-I am going to Janesville! Every time I have been there it has been raining or snowing, what is up with that? Will be fun to see DKVs place though...I can give her chicken ideas!
Maybe Jim didnt get banned....maybe we ticked him off? Yeah, I miss all the bantering! Hey, that wuail that was lyingon it's side all the time? I held it all through the movie and now it is walking almost normally! It is much smaller than the rest but at least it looks like it might make it now. I am glad that I tried that instead of culling it right away!

Yeah AngieB--I tell everyone that has any kind of autoimmune thing going on to demand that they test for Celiac. You wouldnt believe the people that say they wouldnt follow the diet anyhow...like my Dad! I guess they dont understand the ramifications of continuing to eat gluten. Sad that our Doctors are behind others in the world...maybe cause they are brainwashed?

I am glad that yours got your daughter straightened out early in her life...there are people of my GF board that have had it for 30 or 40 years undiagnosed!

Well--I better get something done before I need to leave...have a great day and take your 'brella! TErri O

TO: Yes she was in the driveway, and running late for school. Guess she looked down at the radio and hit the gas-right into the tree. Her dads off on a hunting trip and guess who gets to break the news to him? DId I mention I was up all night with my 12 yr old daughter? Taking her into the Dr and trying to work from home here. (plus Im missing a mtg at work where they are either announcing our new manager or lay offs)
Well off to the Drs! :p

I grew up with a kid in my class with CD. He always brought PB&J on rice cakes, and the parens would have to get creative with birthday treats since cupcakes and cookies were out.

I would like to know what is the cause of the HUGE rise in people being diagnosed with thyroid disorders, and peanut allergies too...... dang Feds mucking with our food.......

Dr. H was thinking about me.......... uh oh; this does not bode well...
wink.png

I had a dream the other night about those poor cats at that place in Ohio and the events that happened..... and how that very thing could happen in my own back yard. Not due to the owner being an idiot of course, but a natural disaster that would cause enough damage to the zoo to enable the 7 lions, 3 tigers, 3 bears, 2 cougars, and the assortment of wolves and dingos loose on the community. I think the Factory Dairy farm right up the road from the zoo would be a better place for them to head off since there would be all those yummy cows to eat.......

Ok, I better go and do something productive.

Well we got the horses loaded, got to her place got them unloaded... Indi whinnied.. and I spotted her 3 running across 400 acres of crop land (half or 3/4 cleared)...
So I tied up my two, we grabbed ropes and grain and bribed them down to the river where they got out before, the perimeter fence ends there....
Got them in the smaller pasture, threw some hay at them... and breathed a sigh of relief...
Never fails!!
But it all ended well... I am tire and going to take a nap!

DOO DOO DOO DO !!!! I feel like I"m in the Twilight Zone here !!! Where is everybody ????

Hope you're feeling better Cind, and rested up WCC.

Thought I would waste some time on here since it is raining outside and I have to go out there and collect eggs and do waters. Hoping it will stop raining soon.

DH had to go into work later today, working in a different shop, then had to leave to get hay. So when he gets back he will go back to work. So late supper tonight.
His boss gave him some venzun sausage and venzun bologna or ???? So I'll fry up some potatoes from the garden to have with it.

My new black silkie hens are quite the vocal little girls. I was hoping they would haved laid me some eggs by now but no such luck. I was hoping I could get some fertile eggs from them to add to my bloodlines.
The silver silkie that I took out of the community coop (this years hatches) is doing great. Think it is a little rooster though
th.gif
He makes very faint hard to describe sounds.
My showgirl on the other hand with the wry neck isn't doing so good. Seems to be regressing back to more bad days then good.
hit.gif
Not sure what I am going to do about that yet.

Ok, well gonna have a cuppa and wait to see if I am still alone on here before I go out to the cold rainy 40 degree weather.
