That works too, if you have a scale that measures smaller than 1/2lb increments. I do not.

Amy, first time trying this but here are a couple pics of the Langshan pullets taken today, I think they are around 10 months old

until I get the separated it's hard to tell who lays what for eggs, but I am getting 1 or 2 lg/exlrg lavender(kinda/sorta) colored eggs a day. I think the one with the least feathers on legs drops a medium light brown egg caught a wet one in her nest box awhile back The blue green coloring doesn't show well think it's the camera dealing with the **** snow,,,lol
Not sure of the weight on them,,,need to figure out how to do that

But hey, who am I to talk. I celebrate my birthday in a warm month since Jan sucks for birthdays..
AND I always preface is the (insert number) like 10, (th) anniversary of my 29th birthday..

Well shed number 2 at the Sam's club in Greenbay is done...
When you find out unless the shed is on perfectly level ground, it refuses to go together correctly.. And you DON"T have to care... it goes together so much easier

DrH... I made my own cigs off and on starting about 10years ago. Got myself one of those fancy maysheens... heard they have electric ones now too.

Elaine... That is real expensive to adopt an animal.... guess theirs only go to rich homes! You can get dogs from breeders for that!

Angie... Thanks, I'm still kinda "adjusting". Don't know how long I can stay on it. I have no insurance so I'm using what was left from when 2 of my kids were on it. (Yes, my Dr, was going to put me on it) I have about 2 months worth.

FT... those pics of your niece are so cute! The thing with the eggs reminds me... the first time I let my youngest grandson collect eggs. He carefully put them in the basket and carried them to the house. I went to open the door, then behind me I hear "ball.... *smash"... ball ... *smash* ... ball" There he was throwing egg to the dogs for them to play with!

Holly Molly did the cat do stinky in the litter box! EWWWWW.....BRB..... Better, covered it up!

Love all the chick pics! And those are very pretty hens too! Yes, it is a pretty shape to them!

Well, When I went out to let the girls out this morning, Jasmine was missing! Found her under the bench in the food storage area in a lg. flower pot! (She's one of only a couple hens small enough to squeeze through to that room.) Any way I left her because she was limping a bit the night before so figured she was hiding out. Well, when I went to close up I figured I better check that pot just in case she laid an egg. She did.... and 11 more were in there! Little Sh!t

Bet she was storing them up to go broody again!

Well, time to try to get some sleep...soon anyway. Night all

Day 2 of insomnia (well night...)
Why do they call it a cold? I don't feel cold. I feel hot. I feel snotty (not a word CC). I feel coughy. I feel sneezy. It's ridiculous. After so many years of breast feeding kiddos where I couldn't take cold medicine, I forget it's out there to use! I wish we had a 24 pharmacy...

My first chicks are now 4 wks and 6 wks old. HnR bantam leghorn Comet is doing well. Safe to safe to say she's a girl. My EE Rocket is getting big! At 4 wks we have no signs of a roo issue there. Now Venus... From TO... Not so sure. Venus is getting a rose comb and it is going to have a point to it, looks like. It is also pinking up and the sides of the jaw has pinkish spots. I just don't know. She doesn't act Roo-ish. No chest bumping or anything. But the pinking up of things, where the other two are not, has me concerned. May be our local Roo rescuer/expert could weigh in... You know who you are FT...

I think I'll take some ugly pics of my bigger chics for y'all. My Rocket is quite a looker to be sure. But man... Are her poops getting big and smelly... YUCK!

I get to meet another Cheesehead later. WiChCh is going to get some of my Marans babies. We'll miss them, but I know there's LOTS more chicks in my future.

Oh well... Back to concentrating on mouth breathing and online cribbage....
