Cind, a broken toe is not a "put down" type of injury. chickens are always breaking toes, or throwing a hip out.. they usually heal on their own.. I am surprised that mine don't have more broken toes.. just about every day I end up standing on a foot or two when I am in the coop..
frozen slushy ruts are the pits to drive on.. at least scrape it level if you can't scrape it off..
I notices water dripping off the roof at 7AM already..
I didn't see my big peacock yesterday.. and not yet today, either.. he roosts on the edge of the big lean to roof.. I have not gone back there to check on him..
