Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

good evening folks,

long rainy day,,,good soaker for the garden

didn't make the deal with the yooper, first words out of his mouth were "I'm an old guy, can you help me out here?" (I had told him my firm price on the phone and in an email) said he was 77 and it would take him 1/2 day to get the unit to fit his tractor (a $30k Kubota) I told him we couldn't do any business, got in my truck and drove back to the house,,,leaving him to get into his new GMC a $30K truck and his new $5k trailer,,,,he wasted the morning, drove 160 miles for naught. Sometimes working a guy on price isn't the way to save a buck,,,,,,,,,most likely calling me a rude young man

cheap fawker, p!ssed me off

judge, organic feed will cost you about double,,you should call local feed mills they will either have it or give you a lead in the area

speaking of feed I've talked to a few breeders around the state this week,,,seems all are cutting to minimal numbers with the trend in prices, mine(non-organic) is now at $24.50-#100 and $23.00 at the Aniwa mill, egg prices will need adjusting soon

Our hydrometer broke in storage, so we don't know the %. DH will buy a new one on the way home from work tomorrow.

How long should it take for my pullet to start laying???? Number 3 hasn't laid an egg yet!!!

I got soaked while leaving the grocery store. Luckily, I didn't have anything requiring refrigeration, so I left it in the car.

Well I've got a stupid guinea who won't go in. Dumb thing. I left the door to the run open, and there is a dog igloo for it to go in. But if it can't figure out how to go in the door when it's light out, I don't have a lot of hope when it's dark. Everything else is locked up in the coop. I guess well see if it makes it through the night

good night, I am pooped.. had nephew help me clean the garage enough to fit the tractor in. even swept the floor.. DD#1 didn't know there was a floor in it.. she is only 45..
put in a halogen light,, have another one if we need it..

tried to get the pressure washer going,, nope.. something is stuck.. motor can't spin..

a bourbon red turkey died today.. IDK,, just died.. they are about 10 weeks old..

by the time I write this, that wet chicken should be all dry and happy again..

I got the shaft back today.. no charge.. they cobbled the original one .. very unprofessional, in my opinion.. BUT it is 12 3/4" long again.. I can't wait to try it out... I feel so much better.. UnkaDan, eat your heart out..

the guy called about the pup again.. Now he wants to know if it will kill groundhogs,, like his last dog did.. How the heII should I know ?? I told him that I doubt it.. I asked him exactly how many ground hogs did he have ?? an epedemic ?? sheeese

guess I will go watch the Pack play.. TerriO is not online,, I imagine she is well into the game already..

Jim, you were just in time to see them lose.

Unk, ya sure the truck belonged to the old guy & wasn't just borrowed from a relative for the long drive with heavy equipment? Just sayin. Not wild about cheapskates myself, but don't like getting ripped off either. It's a fine line, I guess.

cs, what breed is she? Different breeds take longer than others. I think Buckeyes, or some breed Bigz has takes an incredibly long time to start laying.

Bf4, not too much you can do if it is loose. Hopefully it will find a tree to roost in & not be discovered. I hear they're not too bright? Good luck!
