HI AND HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE DADS!!
Ok, so here's how I am able to walk barefoot in my coop with only the occasional "squish" between the toes. First, I have a catch board covered with wood chips under my roost, I have vinyl covered floor that I keep covered with a nice thick layer of straw and of course DE under all. The biggest thing I probably do tho is every morning I enter the coop with a bucket that has two cat litter scoops always in it making it easy to scoop up anything out of the straw and wood chips. Honestly tho, my girls are big help in that department too. Don't know if it's because of the conditions they were rescued from or what but ever since I let them out of their coop for the first time, they have always waited to empty their ceca til they were outside. Sometimes barely making it to the bottom of the ramp!

good chookies

. Anyway, that's how I keep my coop clean. Oh, and I probably do a complete clean out more often than needed. Now, if I can just get them to stop pooping on their favorite sunning spot, which happens to be the steps off the side of the porch that leads to the garden/coop area!!!!
I am going to start feeding FF as soon as I work out the logistics. My two big girls for no reason I can come up with stopped laying must be at least a month ago now. No molt, etc. My Aussie had seemed to develop water belly (talked about this before) but seems a lot better now, tho her tummy is still a bit bigger than it should be I think, but otherwise looks really good and the other, my black star named Soup, seems to have no problems that would have caused her to stop laying. I am actually glad she is taking a break because she was having a lot of yuck in her eggs since I got her and had gotten worse over the winter but she wouldn't quit laying even when she was molting. Been no change in feed other than I backed off their treats once they could finally get outside again. That's why, among others, that I have decided to switch to FF. I would like to switch my 11week olds to FF as well, thus the logistics part.
Any suggestions, instructions from those of you already doing FF will be greatly appreciated!!!
