cp that's pretty good for shipped eggs! The fog rolled in right after I posted about the sun and now that I'm back in it's coming out.

Got about a half a trailer load of wood this AM that should hold us for a couple of weeks.
big_smile.png
Got to spend time in the woods listening to it at times.

Jim had wolf tracks out back a couple of years ago but didn't get to see them and there's reports of big cats around too. Always wanted something bigger than a house cat for a pet but don't want to wake up dead. Have my own "Bob" cat to deal with and he's a big enough pain in my a$$! He's a dink! raimnel I'm hoping people will chime in as to me making the Q's, yes it would be the ground beef type. Wish I had enough meat for shreaded. Personally think your already doing more than your share and would like others to step up too! I make a good Q sauce and promise not to make the way I like it HOT! So the kids will like it and those with less intestinal fortitude then do too. It's not up to me it's up to everybody! Just think it would make things easier for a lot of folks not to have to pack so much and worry about getting it cooked. It would be all set to snarf. When we get closer I would need a head count for amount. It's a big Nesco. Sounds like a heck of deal on the shirts. Good timing!

Bash food.... My DH works for a wholesale restaurant supply warehouse. When the time comes we could also bring some other meat for sandwiches. We'll see what's on special that week. Could be roast beef, Italian beef, ham, pulled pork or what ever. I'm sure we can get it cheaper than any of you!

Someone just needs to bring lots of buns/rolls and condiments.

Afternoon All... +1 on your helpful work ODH, awful long hours for sure!

Great job with the hatches cp and Jim.

I have the brooder in the garage set-up and will turn it on later and leave it on to see what I have for temps
in the morning....I'll have two 250 lamps going and see how it goes. I can always eliminate one if I don't need both.
I'll give you a call Jim before I leave tomorrow...prolly around 10am.

Yep I know Dr Twohig, he was a customer of mine....so was the other dentist. He lived on the street on the south side of the pond out toward the hitching post. I hate that when i can't remember a name. His office was upstairs in the center of main st on the north side. Anyways thanks for trying BL4.

Whatever you want to do in regards to food Doc is fine with me. Keep in mind that the kitchen is full service and folks that do stay friday night can cook sat morning to as an option....or re heat things too. The closer we get to the bash, the more we can fine tune!
The shelter has plenty of outlets for whatever.

My two roo's are really at it too. The one that is a little smaller is really getting beat up. I hope they setttle down and except each other. The small one is being rejected by the women too...poor guy.

Later.... ~ bigzio

Gosh... a person goes to the hospital for 29 hours and has a ton of posts to read and try to remember... LOL Sadly they wouldn't let me play on their computers. I'm fine, was having some breathing problems, chest xray clear, nuclear stress test excellent, echo showed no signs of lung problems... suggestion 1) quit smoking and 2) drastically reduce my caffiene intake... and I'm supposed to stay away HOW????

Congrats to all the hatchers! Sounds like everyones hatches went pretty well. Glad to hear spring is finally making it's way up there, I was getting worried! Wondering what the He!! I was doing moving north from FL, just to freeze!

Amy, Janesville allows up to 25 chickens (no roos) as long as you aren't near a hospital, restrauant, school and a couple of other places... but we'll be outside the city in a restricted subdivision, but the restrictions were put in place over 40 years ago, so I'm hoping things have relaxed a bit. If not then I guess I try to change things. I've calmed down a bit and realized that things do change and sometimes even for the better... here's hoping anyway!

Hoping we can arrive and get a little settled so I can attend the get together. Would someone PM me again where it's located, so I can see how far a trip it is for us from Janesville?

Hurley thanks for the pics, it's so interesting to see the wonderful things that can be done for the poor animals. They are so lucky to have you

DrHaHa, The BBQ sounds great, We will bring a salad and whatever else is needed. I'm sure I'll come up with something else too just haven't thought about it yet.
DKV1 hope all is well.
We should be getting chicks next week and can't wait

Raimnel, I did not forget. I am at work W-Sat so my computer time is limited on here (if you notice I do not have too much to say on those days...) It is also hard to battle the teens off of here too!

Ok, the calls in the pic from the link you posted are (front to back, R-L): Magpie F (Maggie), Black F (Jules), Grey F (Ferdie), Grey M(Drake), Grey F (Squawkers), Pastel F (Taffy), and Bibbed M (Checkers). M-Male, F-Female.

TO has the three greys, so the babies hatched out from what I have left would be Bibbed/Pastel, Bibbed/Black, Bibbed/Magpie...... Jules is still laying a pullet egg, so I am not going to attempt any hatching until they are all the same size.... and once that happens I do not think I will be able to tell them apart!

Ok, off the 'puter for family time. Catch you all later.

Dr. Hurley; I would love to be your assistant.

Hi All,
I won't hardly try to read the last several pages. I am back online till we move.
DKV good to know you decided to get that house.

Terri let me know about that Call duck hen.

Rainmel do we need to pay for the t-shirts now or when the bash happens?

Hurley/Connie, I will call you tomorrow.

And if the eggs were due to hatch on Weds/Thurs...would they be overdue on Saturday??
Let me know
THANKS
Carol

I have pips! Well, snake pips anyway. My corn snake hatching season has begun. 2 clutches have the "scouts" pipped. Takes them about a day to absorb yolk before they leave the egg. I cut way back this year, only 12 clutches in the incubator (last year hatched 33). Sold off a good 50 of my keepers.

Mass dog was up and looking good this am, walking around quite well considering the size of the surgical site.

Lots of chicken eggies in the incubator, happily baking away at 99.5.

Happy (My) Friday! Tomorrow - get packed up for the dog show and get the dog groomed and bathed and ready to roll. Get a pair of chickens caught up for Carol.

Roosters are feeling the spring, a few of my gals are starting to show the "love". Think it's time one of the roosters heads out to greener pastures.

Got a copy of the Standard of Perfection 2010 today, will enjoy working my way through that. Just finished Storey's Encyclopedia of breeds.

My little lavender bantam Ameraucanas are growing up. Looks like 1 male, 3 females, the male has a nice red comb and face suddenly. Can't wait to see them mature. Silkies of the same age are getting very cute and fluffy, will need to get some photos, but here is one:

SilkieChicken.jpg

Got 2 splashes, 2 blacks, and a cuckoo in the group. Will have to wait some time to figure out males vs. females, I fear.

Little LF lavender Ameraucanas are growing nicely, starting to feather in.

The young sons are telling me it's bedtime, so better sign off. Night, all.
