Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

MLH... where do you get your Nutrena?... my girls are prefering the pellets now that we have them hooked. They were used to the crumbles.
Farm and fleet has Nutrena 16% pellet and so does my local feed store Days Feed. they are little west of Orfordville. would be a nice little ride for you from New Glarus not much farther than Monroe just the other direction.

and it should be against the law for organizations to prey on old people for money.. they claim they are doing great things with the money, while robbing the old folks.. when mom moved in here,, all donations ceased..

We kinda had that trouble here with my father. He is 75 and falls for any sob story anyone calls with. Now when anyone asks for him by name on the phone we all have learned to ask who is calling and if we can take a message. they normally won't say and offer to call back later.

TO that white and black chick I got from the Wyandotte I bought from you that you liked the looks of has just grown a bright green tail. I tell you this so you will recognize him on your driveway and know I have just driven by your house.

I used to do that with extra produce from the garden. I would leave it at a front door or in the parked cars of people I know.

Yes Terri O... i know her "insider" info.. just didnt know if F&F was the best stop(besides that source... where do you find coupons?_)
... JJ.. not sure where Orfordville is...we used to have a nice local feed store that went out of business about 4 years ago, right when I got into chickens... of course. How do their prices compare with F&F?

Ok everyone is having fun at Terrio's...guess that is where our next meetup should be. Just put us all to work. My kids love going over to Carols farm to help water and feed her animals... they fight over who gets to feed the chickens and pup at home... why cant they fight over dishes or cleaning bathrooms... or making my dinner... that is what I want to know.
Ok have to find my last few presents for the holidays and start wrapping and get our tree up. That is my plan for the weekend. exciting stuff!

chikenscratch- I think my husband "shooed" them in a couple nights and then shut the ladder door so they couldn't get out until morning when he let them out. Since then they've been going in on their own. But, coincidentally, our goats have been staying out sometimes at night lately even though it's been colder!? Let's blame it on the full moon!

Google them.

Days Feed Orfordville. WI

google will offer a map and you can get directions and see how far they are from you.

The Day family is real down to earth. They are on their 3rd generation at that location, and SHE is doing her level best to stay in business.

The price on feed is close to F&F if not cheaper. They also run promotions like buy 10 get 1 free and you don't have to take 11 all at once, They keep track of your purchases and when you get to 10 you get a free one.

Last year the customer appreciation day deal was buy 2 get 1 free. That was nice.

Now when Farm and Fleet puts feed on sale I can't bring myself to buy it there. It is worth the extra 50 cents to me to shop with people I know.

They order day old chicks with no minimum and you pick em up at the store from the brooder in the showroom.
.
They also sell dog, cat, horse, cow, game, wild bird, and pig foods as well.

The next time I go in there I am going to ask for a big thank you for this commercial I just typed for them.

They have just started having their own mixes made at Delongs mill to sell under their own label.

Yes Terri I asked a newbie question. (See she can be withchy sometimes :p). I keep buying stupid small bags of starter. Didn't want the 50lb bag sitting here. Now they are out AGAiN and I have to buy more. I'll switch to grower and just buy the big bag. They'll be out in the coop soon, so more room for the big bag.

MXM you GOTTA post a pic of her hair! Dan you'd sure think I would by now but mystery keeps it exciting! Have to give you a "good job" on the Kentucks not flushing. Oooo that had to hurt! Jim the only thing is males $50, girls $125 to fix and the FACT that boys are smarter than girls anyday! Well well well Raim is alive!

Sounds like you've been busy and are about to get busier. So sad to hear about your losses! Hope you get it figured out but sounds suspicious now that the DH took over? SR Production Red sorry for the confusion. See my avitar for the bestest one that ever lived! Peaches was his name and Peatwo is his son. Tisk tisk TO your old enough now to realize you need a list to shop! I have one at all times but I can't remember where I put it. Probably next to my unused memory pills. Oh lord their awake again gotta go.

As far as going into the going to coop at night, you all would have laughed at me as I attempted to get 2 of the 3 into the coop last night. I would shoo them in, go out of the run to pull the door down, and out they'd walk. I did this 3 times before getting my hubby to help!

The Layena feed is new this time around. We had been getting the Nutrena (or whatever its called). I didn't notice until we got home that it was different because I was so busy talking with the guy that had moved here from Texas.

On the house front...as most of you know, we have been looking for a house. We just found one that I'm in love with and we hope to see it soon.

Fingers crossed Chikenscratch!

Here's the tree atop the being-built pole barn, the placement of both courtesy of Doug and Tom :)

I overheard Doug ask how Ben and I where going to get it down, Tom said he didn't know and It wasn't in their bid.

DrH, purdy roo and I believe you have answered my question as far as the orange/white streaked roo I tried to describe...Looks alot like that one..maybe crossed with old english as the others suggested.

However, this one I kept doesn't look a lot like that and noone seems to have a guess what it is....do you?
