Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Fresh Fish Fry Friday To All... and people actually go out to eat....Sorry you guys couldn't  be here to enjoy this feast we had tonight...it was super delish....it was fun to get the outside fish cooker going again...OMG the fresh fish was perfection.(I won't mention the cole slaw and dark rye bread)

In regards to the orchard trees...yep...really nice trees...I bought the semi-dwarf trees. They end up being prolly 5 to 5.5 feet tall after being planted...I bought delicious and Cortland...they have a really good choice of trees, and varietys. gotta love my spelling.

The buckeyes are growing fast now...it won't be long now til they are outside.

I always keep my waterers fresh and my feeders clean...the coop is never nasty and I can go in them bare foot, and I do....the eggs are collected without a need for washing, because of the clean bedding...I like my method of management..I also have a closed flock for good reason...just sayin

The deep litter method seems to end up the deep sh!t method...and the problems start. Don't forget the litter part if it's your method of laziness. just sayin. The deep litter method works, if you don't forget the litter part.

I've seen links posted here claiming that a lousy environment is healthy for the flock....how's it working for you? The birds deserve nothing but clean feed and fresh water...ok...I'm done!

I keep my coop the same way and often go in barefoot too, but then I only have 7 girls.

UNKADAN - Bob, really??? Ewwww!!! :lau

Heavy rain here a little while ago, over a good soaking inch, no watering today!!! :celebrate

Wow Heather, so sorry but glad you seem to be around the bend and close to the finish line. If it's any consolation, I think you may have saved a couple of us newbies some heartache.

Met Irish today, she has an amazing little shop! Checked out Strawb fest, that seems to never change much......

If any of you ever get the chance, go eat at Little Fat Gretchen's....... Amazing homemade food!!!

Heading down to Lake Poygan with the in-laws to drown some worms and grill some brats for Father's Day. We will wave as we drive by Lm!!!!

Afternoon, just sitting down for some supper- tator tot casserole. Finished processing 29 to crock pot camp/freezer camp this afternoon, that should cut down on the feed bill

Was able to move birds around and combine a few pens so our overflow from the coop is getting smaller......just need to finish wrapping the ones for freezer.

Also managed to get our brush pile burned- every time we were going to burn it, it would rain. DH fixed his truck and now needs to fix the skid steer so we can replace the culvert at the end of our driveway. Hoping to get the garden re-tilled and finish planting- have around 16 tomatoes to plant, guess we'll see how far we get.

Off to start chores

hi all, been having tech probs and last nite battery ran out just as I hit send so of course didn't go thru.
So sorry to all whos having sick chickens. I've been wanting to get a couple EE's, but don't have a set up yet for the separation period. I am holding my breath as it is since I didn't separate the new ones I got a few weeks ago.i didn't think there would be a prob since everything is new and clean I only had two other 3wk olds. would I know if I had sick chicks? Everyone seems fine, an occasional runny poop though.

It was soo good to meet you and Holly today! No more jail breaks after you left - I must have plugged up all their known escape routes. Wait and see, tomorrow they're going to find some new ones!

Stop by again any time! I'm there 7 days a week until Labor Day.

I didn't get much planting done today even with the Strawberry Fest in town. That usually makes for a slow day but things were hopping later in the afternoon.
