Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Afternoon To All.....ooops I forgot to mention that the chicken Dinner is at the church hall on Main Street in Clintonville, and not at Camp.Just use the 16th street entrance on the side...me and suzie will be sitting there selling tickets.

Clintonville is North of Madison prolly 100 miles or so...I don't think they sell potatoes on Sunday. It would be quite a ride for spuds.

We just bagged up our kraut. The 3 heads made 16 full quart bags. That should be enough kraut for awhile, eh! Hope everyone elses turns out goodie like ours.

My son shot a dandy 8 pointer last night...prolly a 3 1/2 year old ...heavy deer and heavy rack.

My mom had 4 boys and gave up tryin for a girl. Kinda like hatching all roo's in a way.

Have Fun...bigz

Oh no melissa and lisa!! Ive been soo excited! All these weekends working and at swaps! We will figure it out at some point!

Terri, I really hope your back gets better!! I agree with amy, you should have told us something all made up ;-)

Del, love the pics!! So beautiful! !

Cs, get a schedule yet? I will probably have to find someone to take my hours at work...

Jen, the hen I have laying has been giving me an egg almost every day! They are awesome friendly birds!!! I will now post a few pics :)
nice boy..he is going to have a really nice front on him when he grows up..Nice male. He is brassy, but should work for black girls and after moult will be better. I would hang on to him. How much does he weigh?

Beautiful ...perfect front end and very dotte. Nice round ball....post this on the BLRW thread to show what a male should look like.

Moms brother to give you an idea. Again not amazing deep red. But nice type! I hope by putting a black over ellis (mom) he color will improve :)

And just to show you how friendly they are when the kids handle them!!!!!
My girls are like this too..the boys I made sure they respect people and give wide birth. 10lbs of male on hormone charge with kids can get ugly.

Thanks del! I am hopefull for z, the blue. He is syd's. And I want him to stick around. I will need to invest in a scale to do some weighing!! Lol

Here is my blue girl from you this spring. She is amazing! I call her Bonnie.

Since the loss of the other babies, I will probably be interested in that black cockeral if you still have him.
How has your hawk situation been? I am missing a chick at lockup tonight :'( I have not told Sydney yet.

Bigz, I hope you have a good time!!

Irish, things still going well with mom?

Cc, you should pm with pricing and availability of your lav eggs :) I think I will be doing the hatch in twoish weeks.

I donated and shipped two black males to a young boy for his 4H project next year..never fear..I have two more blacks. I kept my best two..one male one female. I can also put the blue and black together and get you some eggs or hatch you out some anytime too..I have 3 BLRW chicks that just hatched..looking forward to those to see how they turn out. Different line than what we have.

Your blue girl is stunning..love her lacing.

I posted one of your pictures on the BLRW thread..He has such nice type i could NOT stand not bragging about your bird. I told them you will be over to post more..
My first black male is finally maturing. He crowed today for the first time..lol The splash male still has that injured leg and I am not sure if i am keeping him or not..He has nice color for a splash. Not sure he could breed with that darn leg.

I will put them back together in a breeding pen. They should be good to go in two weeks.

I have not heard from them at all.. I send a message and no response..

My male is not breeding the girls..I think the girls get ready before the boys do. They flirt threw the fence to all the males..hussies

It takes under 13 hours to fertilize eggs. It takes sometimes a while for males and females to like each other enough to get fertile eggs. The males are so layed back they might not like girls yet.

That's funny BigZ about the boys/roos! You must have had quite the heads of cabbage! We had one large and 2 small and it just made 5 pounds to ferment. We are starting small...I have had fermenting gone bad in this house so I didnt want to waste the cabbage since I love it fresh so much! Here is the "professional cabbage masseuse" at work.

As you can see we made a mixture of green and red cabbage for our kraut.
And just for fun cause I didnt remember if I posted this or not: gigantic daikon radishes! They were really GOOD in soup!
