Dogs found this muscat in the yard the other day. It must have gotten lost. I got it in the live trap and Scott took it back to the marsh. That little thing sure can jump! Almost got me!

What kinda cards we talking?
good morning,
I hope this will not be another slow www day..
I almost got enough space cleared in the garage for Ollie..
my biggest problem is that after I am cleaning for awhile, I get side tracked with just about anything that seems more interesting.
this is Zeke's second day of freedom, and he still hangs around the dog coop.. that is fine with me, but it sure is funny in a strange sort of way..
However, the two dogs did take their daily constitutional down to the river ..
Delisha, I have 6 black hybrid layers now.
but I want to get either red stars or Rhode Island Reds..
and maybe a white layer type like a Leghorn or that newish breed that I can't think of the name right off hand..
I would like to get them so they are old enough in early spring to start laying right away ..
that would mean getting chicks like right now..
I have the facilities for raising chicks in this cold weather..
especially if it doesn't get too nasT cold ..

woo hoo!good news,
I GOT OLLIE INTO THE GARAGE !!! and the door closed..
they are not old enough..January - February they will start laying.Might be getting a few production reds from a guy at work to replace my unfortunate happenings earlier in the week. He got them as day olds May 1st and they haven't laid for him yet. He's not sure what he's doing wrong so hopefully I can get em rollin.
Sorry to her and I will say prayers for you and your family.Today was a bad day around here, the flock is fine, although something is trying to break into the night time chicken run(in a building) been smelling skunks a lot, and DH2B saw a possum maybe one or two weeks back. Haven't seen a coon maybe a half mile away across a field but its happening later than ten or even twelve. Any ideas? Thankfully we have had a board up but we have found the latch undone and or almost undone almost every day. At the very least it's flipped up daily. Kinda worried about the flock I know the run is sound but I really dont want to risk an animal massacre either.
Anyway back to why today was a bad day. If you could all please keep my family and my Grandpa in your prayers. Today it was decided that Tuesday my Grandpa will be going to live in an Alzheimer's care home and we are not taking it well. It's a local place and seems like a good one, but my great grandfather died shortly after being admitted to a similar but nicer place. My mother is a nurse and her and I lived with my grandparents for over three years to try and keep him at home, as she made him that promise when he was horrified after being diagnosed with the horrible disease. However it has become clear that it is no longer safe for him to live at home despite the many safety measures we implemented. He is also to the point that he frequently doesn't recognize even my Grandma and most of the time doesn't know where he is. My Grandpa is like a father to me as my own has fallen horribly short. Please pray for my mother's, grandmother's, and family's peace during this awful time, and please pray that we can salvage this Christmas in spite of how bleak things feel today. Thank you guys.
feel better!Hi All!
chickendreams.... it's very hard to have to "place" a loved one, but there are times when it's the best, safest solution for everyone.
Yea, my sick is due to trying to breath in damp weather.... just got to be a bad spell. At least I'm not in the hospital.
Night All!
yup..coonwith the absence of snow, sprinkle a little flour on the floor to pick up the critters tracks.. I am putting my money on coon..
putting Grandpa into a nursing facility is not hard on him,, it is hard on you.. You can still see him every day, but someone else is doing the hard work.. the more often you visit him, the better they will take care of him.. and if there is anything amiss, don't be afraid to speak out..
Daethen, you would really enjoy the movie "Airplane" ..
