Late Afternoon All....Nice to have a day off today. Me and Suzie took the 5 hides we had to a country bar out in the sticks that buys them. We enjoyed a afternoon of conversation with other country folks that also have chickens. Yep Doc the new freezer is a wall of wrapped packages. We are truly blessed here! Thinkin with the fast mail nowadays, that sausage and dill seeds could fly! (you to Terri)
Hurly my friend is talking about having Iowa Blues available this Spring. If that is the case, I'll let you know, for sure. I love the Light Brahmas...truly the majestic ones. I have some here that are 6 years old, and still layed this spring and summer. Pets that will always have a place here on the hill!
We are having Turkey and the fixens tonight. Home made Apple pie for Desert. Heirloom squash...I know, I know, you guys are still full from yesterday! I'm hungry though.
Go Pack tomorrow...those Falcons are super tough at home...keep you fingers crossed...

BigZ I see your supper resembles ours, as I bet most everyone elses do too. LOL! actualy I changed it up a bit. but lordy is it soooo good. I will be making an apple again for christmas. I've never been a fan of apple pie but man did MY pie taste wonderful! maybe it's all the work I put into it that made it so good. mm mm good!

ok my ducks, I locked them up for a few days all together and they're being nicer to the lone duck. the girls are fine with her just not big foot (male). In locking them up in the chicken run we are now letting them in the coop with the chickens now they go in there on their own at dark, and would you believe those buttheads are roosting?? they're kicking the chickens off the roosts? is it ok that they are roosting?

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome petsits! That's a REALLY REALLY nice birthday present! Sorry WCc and Hurley about my mistake on the polish roo. Must have needed that nap. Which I did get and it was great! Slept till 6:30 this AM that was great too. raimnel glad hear your ducks are toeing the line now think it's funny that their kicking the chickens off the roost. Never knew that ducks would roost maybe next spring the chickens will be using the pond.

Bigz think if the Packs wins today's game it'll be a miracle it'll test their metal for sure. Started switching channels half way through the second quarter of the Badger game, poor northwestern. Not even going to say what todays plans are seems to never materialize but still get a lot of things done. And now, BL4 you better watch out I get even! And am already hatching a plan of retaliation. Just remember you started it!

Better get the chickens their morning water. Hope the Pack has a great day and all of you too!

Good morning everyone else...I hope you have all recovered from "turkey hangover!" I could eat some more myself...that is the only problem with going to family for T-day...no left-overs! Guess I will have to take the one I bought out of the freezer and make it for next weekend! MMM--more pie too! Hey, maybe I will invite DrH and L over for dinner!

The scrapbook thing was just OK. I didnt have any of my regular friends there so I made new ones...but it just wasnt quite the same. I did get my Christmas cards made though so that is good to have out of the way...I needed my heat gun for one of the projects and looked for mine for an hour...turns out that my SON borrowed it and it is at school in his apartment! Darn kids...guess he needed it to fix his X-box? Wonder if I will see it again? I went to a friend's to borrow hers--couldnt find it...borrowed one from another friend...then the project didnt work out like the magazine showed! Through out the whole mess--what a WASTE of time! It was a really neat card too...

So are most people's chickens slacking with the cold weather?? mine aren't.. My new leghorns are producing 1 day per bird, and our production reds are producing 1-2 per day. Even my silkies or polish bantams are giving us a widdle egg or two a day...

My EE and australorp are old enough to lay, under a year old and not a single egg.. if they don't produce in the spring.. .FREEZER CAMP!! I want green eggs!! from one anyway.

waiting for the bank to open, (yes 1 here in oregon is open on sunday's) then off to the store to get a cake and a card for a friend's b-day...
I hve to go the farm to get the staple hammer/gun thingy, and need to clean out the "new" critter room so I can move my snakes, tarantulas and parakeets into one room for winter.
and here I am on BYC wasting time. LOL

OMG BL4 I'm so so sorry for the threat of gettin evens! I couldn't possibly match a really good pecan pie! [ Like I said really really like pecan pie! [suck up suck up] But the bad part of you spilling the beans so soon is that it really makes me want to tell you what I had in mind. But now the field has changed. Dang it so many times people are good and I have to rethink things just when I think their going to be evil. It really makes me happy to know that. I appologized to L today for me not being my usual jovial self. Ha Ha! I realized that I haven't been myself for some time. Too sullen and worried about things. Too many things floating through my brain and house I guess. I have to change that! Called that child James Lewis, called his room a home. Come on BBCB I miss ya man!

Hi From Rib Mountain.

I just found this site this weekend. I plan on getting chickens summer 2011 and plan to learn about them this winter. 2 of my neighbors have them already so hopefully they are legal. Any pointers are appreciated

I have a friend near Wausau that will help in any way, David. He has a ton of knowledge and more stuff in the bators now, that he said were put to rest til next spring....
