Young Beautiful Splash Silkie rooster free to good home.

Hi, folks,
I have to rehome my beautiful splash Silkie rooster who is 9-10 months old. He was purchased from a breeder outside of Milwaukee. I am his 2nd owner. I can't have roosters in the city and even though he's quieter than the neighborhood dogs, I have to rehome him to stay in my neighbors' good graces. I've been able to keep him under wraps throughout the winter, but my chickens are free ranging again and the rooster is pleased as punch with himself and is happy to announce it to the world. (Not that often and he kinda warbles so it doesn't sound like a regular rooster.) He is with 3 larger hens and 1 silkie, and I've seen him mate with all the girls and the eggs I'm getting are fertile. (His nickname should be Frisky.) He's used to free ranging with the girls, so I would appreciate a similar situation for him. Not for food, please. I would really like him to be placed in his forever home and hope someone else will take good care of him and enjoy him as much as I have. If interested, please send me an EMAIL & tell me a little about your setup and why you would like to have him. I will also need to know when you can pick him up in Madison. I can email a photo upon request.

Sadly,
Elaine

Carol,

I just talked to Tiki244 and she said she would be glad to check on Dillon for you. She said if it's the place she thinks it is south of Eau Claire they treat their horses very well.
She doesn't have a computer at home so I told her I would post for her.

I wrote a long post this morning, and then my msn went zip bang and dumped me back to my home page.. I lost the post and was too po'd to writean more, then..

I went to Pulaski today to pick up eggs.. many of you know Dave.
I got 4 doz Delawares and 8 doz java. I will let them rest overnight and pop them in tomorrow..

the eggs I set yesterday were usps from the americauna man in Mukwonago.. wayne meredith..

lots of posts to read.. my eyes are crossing from staring at the screen..

I like the idea of the squirt gun for the cheaters.. Only if I have it handy, somebody is getting shot. LOL

all this talk about horses.. I never owned one, but I worked on farms with them.. I used to drive a 4 horse team for dragging the field after it was plowed.. I broke a mean, kicking, buckskin horse for a farmer for his grandkids to ride, when I was in high school.. I met my wife while I was trail riding.. I let her swing up behind me and told her to hang on tight..she did, and she never let go..

sigh, Now I read so much that I forgot who said it. lol someone said something about their DH making them a brooder with hinges?! My DH made me one and it works AWESOME! just fold it up and store it. YAY!
our chicks are getting bigger every day (of course) still got that one that's still the size of a newly hatched

DH is thinking of culling it?! (it's a del) Jim i'm interested (just because, and nothing against Dave) if the Dels you got from dave, will have feet issues or if it was something I did while incubating????

IDK is Dave even on BYC??? I was thinking of telling him about it. just so he knows??
also do java's grow FAST?
Ridgeline Hens we're not TOO far from you!?

gotta a laugh of of those cheaters, I say go for the "gun" on the table and the friend ask what's it for, and saying that it's to keep everyone honest.

Evening All... I discovered the wild flower in mid to late summer. Thanks for the help with the ID. I don't have any seeds terri, so maybe BL4 can help you out with plants. If it comes back this year I'll keep a close eye out for saving seeds. It is really pretty for sure.

Yep, the javas grow fairly fast. My cockerals were between 3.5 to 5.5 lbs in 18 to 24 weeks. I really like the ones I have....Jim put me on the list for 15 javas when they hatch. I think you already know that, eh! I know how you feel when your post diappears. Enough to pee off anyone. Like you said, you just say forget it and cool off for awhile. I keep looking at my old puter, then at the shotgun....

I am tired tonight so this is how I am going to answer posts.. each one individuall.. I read through them all and then I
think of what I am going to reply and then I forget..

the Dels that I harched from Dave are the ones I am using for breeders this year.. I did not have the greatest hatch, but all that hatched were healthy.. I saved 2 roos and 7 hens..

I think I met Dave on BYC over a year ago.. He went by "whippet"

we built an ice shack with hinges.. 2 sections for the roof, 2 floor, 8 walls.. to disassemble it we just pulled the pins out of the hinges.. we could set it up and take it down in 20 minutes round trip.. we stacked it on top of my jeep to haul it around.. so we were not forced to fish at the same lake all winter..

Dave, I saw a cougar about mid summer last year.. It crossed the road on hwy U right in front of my car.. I told a neighbor about it.. He drives school bus.. He said that there was one sighted around Little Chicago a few times.. I know of two other sightings. but they were a few years ago..

You are flirting with predators all the time if you have chickens.
when you have them licked by land, they come from the air, water, or tunnel in from the depths of the earth..
