raim have you made that call yet? kee

Rai think some outside time would help. That's quite the abitious list you have there. Think with the upcoming work schedules you'd be wise to make some meals ahead of time. BBP Maybe you could get the DNR to come over and trap that bear? Sorry for your loss!

bl4 what can I say? It just sucks!

Buster is still behaving himself [smart boy] I haven't talked to him since the attack. I walk within a foot of him and he doesn't attack but I see a glint in his eye. Walked in the main garden and out by the wood splitter yesterday with the intent of doing something went in up to my ankles. Gonna be a few days yet but I'm getting antsy! Made a list of other things to do today. Better get started. Have a good one!

Good Morning All from the Wifi network at Mcdonalds....
surrounded by retirees and hard working folks getting a bite to eat.
I went down to the basement this morning to feed the 3 chicks I brought back from the barn (I had moved them to the barn when our former landlord was showing our old house to potential renters)..
The floor is wet and the sump pump is just sitting there...the water in the hole looks kinda high.. time to move those chicks again and call the new landlord.
I am going to loose the EE chick, she was lying there getting walked on. I tried to put some water in her, and dip her beak, she just flopped over...
I put her in a box and under the light on one side... I am sure she will pass on today.
I am not sure why.. possibly something from the sump or the dampness.
I have a heater running in there AND two lamps.. and a large space so they can self regulate temps...
She is several weeks old too... sigh...
I have to unload the stock trailer today, get the car port awning off the top of it....
AND pick up some radiator stop leak AND check my fluids on my truck.. something leaked out at the old house where the truck was parked... trying to figure out what..
Either tranny fluid or radiator....
Then work on clients colt who needs to be gelded, try to reschedule the gelding for tomorrow, and do some grooming on muddy horses.

I got myself extricated from the starved horse adventure.... long story short, I saw an ad that some one wanted to trade or sell a Fjord horse (rare and some what pricey), turned out horse had
a medical condition AND had been starved, he was with a Paso Fino that had also been starved. The new "owners" had only had them a week or two and were already trying to dump them, when
the original owner who had recently repo'd them as they had been starved... gave them to the people on the condition that if they couldn't keep them, they were to come back to her.
Well I called original owner, at first seeking info, then working with her to help get them back before they were sold. I strung the "owners" along till she could get them back, promising a free lease
on my horse and all kinds of stuff...
End result was 10+ texts and calls from the 21 yr old (looked 16) who was riding these STARVED horses and trying to sell/trade them... I finally texted him several times to STOP calling/texting me.

I really should stop doing things like that.. but this kid pretended to be a trainer, wanted to put his very inexperienced (and recovering from a broken leg) sister on the very hot and fast Paso Fino who had
no brakes... I called his MOTHER!!... and the kid was riding these starved horses as well as trying to be a horse dealer.

Well I have to run to feed the chickens, unload stuff and go be tired!
Carol

In June you will have plenty of time for gardening.. There are "ideal" times for planting trees etc,, but that does not mean that you can't plant them anytime..

I thought I heard peeping coming from the bator.. then I saw an early chicken chick.. now I see two early chicks.. these are from eggs brought to me to hatch.. I never know if they had been sat on before they are brought here.. apparently so, because they are not due until the 10th.. I have eggs set on the same day from two different people.. I have to check the empty shells..
I have to set up another chick TV,,#5.. Let's just say, we don't need a night light in our house.. LOL

I hope you find your goat, alive and well.. We have a black bear 1/8 mile just to the north of us by the river.. so far he has not visited us. at not lately.. He came right up to the deck one morning about 4 years ago when I was drinking my coffee.. by the time I grabbed my camera he was gone.. he was about 20 feet from me..

better get at these new chicks.. BCNU later

....jiminwisc........

edit:

I guess these are not early chicks, the date is 5/2.. Bruce's chicks.. there are 4 in the brooder now, 2 zipped and a lot of pips.. I transferred the remaining eggs to the hatcher..

did I mention that it is snowing outside?? Yup, it is...

Nice picture, they looked to be best buddies!

It's never easy...our Irish Setter girl is still a bit lost since our old dog passed but it does seem to help that we have a buddy for her again.

I would think that you will still be able to plant when you get up here, the plants and trees might not grow as much but I know it takes a few years on fruit trees and such before the produce fruit. Our garden will probably be later this year too- although ours always seem to be late we still get a good harvest! We do try and get some of the colder loving weather plants in before it get s to hot. Good luck with the packing- it's never fun!

so glad we didn't buy further north, we found some great places and good prices, but DH kept telling me I really didn't want to be that far up... darn, I hate when he's right!!!!

One more pipped, and the two I have already have been transferred to the brooder! I put them on the Cream City Hens Blogtv channel: http://www.blogtv.com/people/creamcityhens

I ended up naming them Tonks and Luna because they were born on Wizarding Independence Day (yesterday) and we're looking for some magic to get this ordinance passed!

Ok and I have a mini-rant. I will try and keep it small.

So, Today Hunter had his 2 week checkup, and so I put Damien in daycare. I don't think I'm ready to handle a naughty 3 year old and a newborn out in public by MYSELF yet, not to mention in an uncontrolled place like the Drs office (where I can't have Damien in a cart or something if hes naughty or running around). I posted on facebook that Damien was in daycare and I was taking Hunter to a dr appt, and then I was gonna clean the house.

Well, DH's cousin posted on my status "why is Damien in daycare if you are not working?" And I responded with "Cause I need to have him in daycare at least once a week to keep his spot there, and I wasn't ready to take both kids with me by myself to the drs appt! I couldn't carry Hunter in his carseat, Damien and a diaper bag, should Damien have a meltdown."

So, why would someone post this like that? I mean, what can't a mom catch a break? Does she think I'm a bad mom cause I put my son in daycare? When all she does is yell and scream at her daughter in public to try and "control" her? Sorry, I don't like continously yelling at my children. I like to have control, and even being out as a family is hard for us to adjust to right now. We have such a system handling Damien, it's hard to adapt a newbie. Plus Damien is acting out more than usual because of the recent addition. If I think taking the two boys out in public is gonna end in choas, guess what? I'd rather avoid that before it happens. I don't need people seeing my son act out, and he doesn't need to draw that attention to himself. Does she not realize i've been with the boys day and night, every single day and getting Damien out of the house for a bit helps me? Not to mention he loves going to daycare to play with the kids his age, so it's not like hes getting punished any.

It just amazes me how people make other people (family members at that!) feel like crap! I didn't think my post screamed come and attack me. Maybe I deserved it. Maybe i'm a "bad mom" for wanting a little quiet.
