The more the chickener, so many new people that I HAVE to meet. I've only been on here for around 2 years and have met so many great caring people! I forgot to mention that while I was cleaning fish Peatwo came up behind me and was doing the look what I've got for you, Look what I've got for you voice. He was sooo proud of the nice big juicy nightcrawler that he had caught just for me! So I had to pretend to play with it to placate his ego. Then just a little bit ago Bob [cat] was outside and I was petting Peatwo on my lap and Bob came up and sat next to me and Peatwo gave a low screech of disapproval. Bob gave him his usual look of what hey is your problem? and just sat there. Now that's entertainment!

I know that area! I grew up between Waterford and Union Grove- my parents still live there- but now I live in the Cottage Grove area!

My aunt lives in Union Grove. Small world. Where's Cottage Grove? I know I've heard of it.
DrH, that is such a cute story. What a group of characters you have there. Wouldn't have it any other way, I take it?

No promises on being able to make it to the bash. dkvart isn't sure yet, and my hubby is in a band, so a gig could come up between now & then. But I would really love to! It really sounds like fun. I will insist on keeping that day open. But you know how that goes........

Does anyone know if Raiquee is planning on coming? She must live really close to me if she is in Big Bend.

Evening All... What a nice suprise today in the mail. I received a nice Thank-you from Doc and a overpayment for the aprons Suzie made. Your in big trouble Doc...I'll let you deal with her at the Bash!
The only Beer batter receipe we use is...
1 cup flour
1cup beer
pinch seasoned salt
pinch pepper
oil 365 degrees

I wanted to hit the white bass run too...guess the creator had other ideas?

I think Raiquee was planning on coming....we all sent her like a ton of info for making the bash T-shirts....hope she didn't skip town?

Took Suzie for a ride in the car today....down the driveway to the mailbox and back....she said you can't drive....oh ya take that!

Should be alot of different poultry and plants to swap and sell or give away at the bash.

DH: Yes, ducks! Yes, ducks! Yes, ducks! They make up for their messiness with other wonderful qualities. Welsh Harlequins are fairly quiet, and beautiful besides. And good layers. Khaki Campbells, too. But I live in the country, and wouldn't know if they would bother close neighbors.

Babylady: I will want to make off with some of your calls at the bash! I hope, in a way, my DD13 will have something else to do the weekend of the bash. I don't think I could say no to her big brown eyes when she says, "Pleeeeeeeze Mommy! They're so little! What's two more?"

She'll have me buying someone's birds before I can think straight.

Funny story from tonight, though--the kids and I (I have a three year old and a six year old) went for a walk with the dog around the loop. Itś a little over a quarter of a mile to loop back to our house. We got to the bottom of our driveway and out pelts my daughterś grey shorthair cat, Lollipop. I thought for sure he came out to taunt Muggle because he was on his lead, but nope! He came for a walk! He went the whole loop with us, then snuck in the house when he was done to take a nap in a sunny spot of carpeting! I couldn´t believe it, but there he was loping beside us. He stopped a few times to lay down in the middle of the road, but he´d always catch up. It was the goofiest thing!

We aren't sure yet about the bash either- kind of waiting for DD's softball schedule to come out.

I think between me and SF there MIGHT be enough babies...... I have been putting eggs in the bator for a staggered hatch, but I have not gotten ANY eggs from Maggie and Taffy in the past 2 days......... There is nest making activity in the hutch portion but no eggs.....

Right now I have 6 that are due to hatch on Thursday, and about a dozen in the incubator........ so I hope that is enough. If I get a few more eggs over the rest of the week I will set them.....


I have another funeral to go to..... another one of my coffee drinking friends..... dropped dead of a heart attack. I am thinking 2 funerals in 2 weeks is enough!

Another thing I have a thorn in my side about.... the lax method of prosecuting DUI charges in this state. A lady from our area was killed while driving her moped by some moron driving while high and drunk (he was doing appx. 85 MPH on a back country road and completely obliterated her..... you know the deer hit by semis? That was her...). I heard on the radio he was sentenced today: I was thinking at LEAST 7-10 years, but NO..... they gave this guy 1 YEAR WITH HUBER PRIVILEGES!!!!!!

WTH!!!!!! My BIL had to go out to that accident scene....... it was so bad those poor guys had to go out there for 3 days just to make sure they got everything cleaned up. I just don't understand this stuff....... makes me mad.

In a nutshell: all of you better take good care of yourselves!!! I want to see ALL of you at the bash!!!! BTW, you guys never said what wines you like......

Oh, babylady, I am so sorry to hear about your friend, and the lady on the moped. Someone around here, a guy, was just killed on a moped last week by a drunk driver.
And keedokes, I am so sorry for your loss. Hope your other one hangs in there.
Does that mean DH & I shouldn't drive to the bash on our motorcycle?

Bigz, isn't RAIMNEL doing the shirts, not Raiquee? I glanced through the bash thread & didn't think I saw Raiquee on there. But I have been completely and utterly wrong on very many occassions before.

I've only been checking on the bash info for the past couple of days, so I could have just overlooked or mixed up my info. Sorry if I'm confusing anyone with my air-headedness. Just ignore me.
