Glad to see most of you managed to come out of the storms pretty good. A little clean up isn't so bad..... having a tree in your house, or your house blowing away.... not so good. I guess a few miles from us got it worse than we did. About 1/3 of Burlington was without power for several hours. Someone had a tree in their BR and a deck got smashed. Lots of trees down. I haven't been to town yet, but I have to go today (Tue.) so I'll drive around a bit and see how bad it was.
Got some patching cement to patch the cracks where the babies are going so I better get that done before I go to town. Wed. I rebuild the small coop. Hope I can get them in by Thur. or Fri. They are getting restless and really need more room! Not to mention how stinky they are!
LOL A friend from my DH's church want's to come by this week too so I can teach her about chickens, gardening, asparagus and what ever country life can offer.
Thanks Dear. I really didn't have a thing to do this week!
Fixing and rebuilding a coop, fencing, planting, court Thur., new (used) stove Thur.( A GAS STOVE! FINALLY!) Not to mention all the house chores I've let go trying to work outside while the weather held up.
The dryer is broke and there hasn't been enough dry weather to hang out clothes so the laundry is way behind! And DH said it's been so long since I made bread he really would like some this week!
It may not sound like much to some of you, but with my health issues I can only do a little at a time. Although I will say, I LOVE THIS HOUSE and I have been able to push myself a bit more than I could before! It was worth the 3 years it took to find it!
Oh, the chickens got a new treat..... watermelon reins! They didn't quite know what to do with them at first. but once they caught on that that pink stuff was tasty..... The madness ensued!
LMAO
And, my 2nd son said he started working on the camper wheel (it was froze up), so maybe we can have a camper to use for the bash!
BTW... our (very) old blind dog will probably be with us. Can't leave him for too long. We can get someone to take care of the other critters, but not him.
Oh.... If anyone has 3-4 Ameraucana pullets and/or 1 or 2 good broody type hens/ pullets at Bash time.... I would be interested! (Think chicken math)
I sure hope the "chicken bill" passes.... everyone should be able to have at least 2 chickens!
