Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I got an answer from Budde in Campbellsport this morning.. He has no females and only has chicks.. has to wait a month to get them sexed.. then I am not clear if he will sell females or not..

I chicked out the pah website.. on there they have a for sale section.. I am not ready to pay $350 to $500 for a pair of anything.. to me it sounds like another one of those snob sites..

My splint on the guinea keet was s great success.. I kept it on him for about a day and a half.. I took it off him and set him on the carpet to see if he could walk.. He RAN AWAY !! It took me 15 minutes and a flashlight to search under the furniture to find him..

It is such an easy splint to do for spradle leg.. I noticed another one with one spraddle leg in the CTV . He is supposedly too old to splint, according to the experts on byc.. but I splinted him yesterday anyhow.. we will see..

If he turns out OK, I will post the procedure here about how it is done.. very simple operation..

I have to get upstairs and start breakfast for everybody.. pancakes and bacon..

You just turn the ol hearing aid off, hey Jim? Or is it your men's selective hearing?

Ooohhhhhh! You got a metal roof, Bigz? I wanted to get one of those, but they are expensive (our roof had too many corners & bends). I remember you had new soffit & fascia (me too), but did you get new gutters too? I heard you should get larger gutters because the water runs off those roofs so much faster. And watch out for falling snow.

Frosty Paws! And I agree, Butts looks so different, & I'm hoping she has a speedy recovery too.
I agree on hoping for everyone to chatter lightly, but don't hold your breath, Dornes.

And congrats on the hatch, or soon to be hatch!

Happy B-day, Carol's DH!

Cind, hope ya feel better!

I posted info on a thunder shirt many moons ago when we were having all those late spring storms roll through.
"With its patent-pending design, Thundershirt’s gentle, constant pressure has a dramatic calming effect for most dogs if they are anxious, fearful or over-excited".

Well, lots to do today. SIL is bringing her bird over this AM so we can watch her while they are on vacation. The cats love new birds. JK. That poor bird is going to be a pro at stink eye come the end of the week, & give it to me every time I come to visit in the future. Then laundry, clean the house, clean the coop, drive to Milw. to see DH's band (hope it doesn't rain), and then Leinies time! And then get up early to go on a bike ride! Probably only cover 3 or so counties this time.
Have a great day, Cheesies!

So I have my BIL passed out on the couch, a baby passed out in his bouncy chair an a 3 year old tiptoeing around causing trouble this morning. Where is DH? Work! lol. Gotta get both kids and myself showered/ready as my dad has his wedding at 2. Hubby is gonna come home and get himself ready, not a lot of time for him to help. We will see. DS3 gets to wear a tux! Hes the ring bearer.

We heard good news on our home, they are thinking we can list it around 209k. Gotta talk to hubby about it this weekend tho, as hes being very negative about the whole thing. Dunno where his thoughts are going, I never expected the realtor to say 209k in this market. Not in a million years! They highest this place has been "assessed" was for 230k. I mean after he takes his chunk, and what if they talk us down yadda yadda. I think thats where hubby is worried. But he doesn't realize that we can counter or decline an offer!! Just cause they offer us 160k, doesn't mean we have to take it!!

I'm also feeling a bit frustrated about work, I want a first shift position. I don't like that I can hug or give my hubby a kiss until the weekend cause I just don't see him. It's too hard! I may need to transfer, which throws another wrench in our plans. Altho the farm we found is still in reasonable commuting distance from MKE. Now if there was only JOBS available. Sigh!

Talk later

Good nearly afternoon! I got to sleep in today!!!! The dog was barking so DH got up and I put the pillow over my head (this was 7:30) and promptly went back to sleep until 10:30!!!
ep.gif
I dont think I have ever slept that late...I can hardly believe it. I know I dint sleep well the night before but man, that is ridiculous! There was a bit of thunder rumbling through and I think that is what woke me up...or I'd prolly still be dreaming the wonderful dream I was having of being in a REALLY scenic place. (think like the Alps!) Now it is raining again...yesterday we had a downpour! Right when the steaks were on the grill too
roll.png
I guess DH thought he was going to melt cause he let them get overdone. The dogs enjoyed a lot of mine...we ate by candlelight because the power went off! I had to scramble around to find enough candlesticks to hold the candles! I KNOW I saw a pair of them somewhere recently....guess I better do more cleaning around here today.

Dornes that website loaded right up for me..maybe it was just down for a bit? Lucky we have Carol to do our finding and running for us hey? (she is a sweetheart
love.gif
) I just love the little Russian Tort that she found for me! I will have to give her a call and see what day and if she wants company on the ride...then I can meet you too! (mini-meet!)

There was a bunch more I wanted to comment on...hmm--oh yeah; I am with you CC on seeing ol' Jim crawling around on he hands and knees trying to catch that little guinea! THey are fast little buggers too...and well Jim--not so much!

I caught up a few more guineas and rescued a teenaged chick out of the water pool yesterday. One of the guineas is not doing too well.. Seems to sleep a lot and it has that poor equilibrium thing going on. The chick needed to be dried off with a hair drier...if only I could have found it. Did my best with paper toweling and she spent the night inside. I will take her back out with me when I go. I think she belongs to the bunch with Turk's baby. The guineas have 3 "Mom's" out there and seem to be doing OK. I will leave the rest. Yet another muskovy came out with ducklings...looks like a dam^ duck nursery school out there!
I counted my geese 34 is the total. THey were coming home in a great big single file line yesterday from the neighbor's hay field....oh oh; can hear it now...according to the neighbor they will have eaten 25 bales of his future profits on their walk through the field!

Well, guess I oughta get my rainstuff on and head out to let out birdies etc. I am sure they are "starving!" THen I will make GF banana bread...we'll see how that is...stay dry! Terri O

Just finished two more pies for tomorrow. Think Annie should have got a pic of Jim's behind on a snipe hunt!

I got woke up at one hearing a light "beep" a few minutes later "beep" PO'd me cause I realized it wasn't going to quit! I knew it was the battery in the smoke detector. That never happens in the middle of the afternoon.

Went to feed client horses this a.m. and it was POURING.... I got drenched, the young yearling had massive scratches on the inside of his leg and tore his chestnut off on his front leg.
Had to doctor that... then went to where I keep my horses and chickies.

One of my little hens has been sitting on a golf ball for at least two weeks. I toss her out multiple times each day, she has a magnet in her butt to that nestbox. I keep moving the golf ball, she finds it.

And Carol, today is hatch day for the Jaerhons...9 in the bator,

Have a pip in one olive egger so far...

Got peeps in the incubator today. One little bantam lavender Ameraucana, a couple splash marans, and looks like 9 or so EEs that are Ameraucana x Marans from the looks of them (though can't guarantee that one of the other cockerels didn't get in the mix, though this was right before they became "active".) The EEs are mostly blue or blue cuckoos with a couple blacks/cuckoo in there. Some more pips in there, should be a handful more. Cute little buggers.

Put up the surplus cockerels on Craigs list today, will see if I get a bite on them. (http://madison.craigslist.org/grd/2544611503.html) Otherwise it will be off to freezer camp here for most of them. Not feeling like processing, so hoping someone takes them. LOL Just need to lighten the testosterone burden in the flock.

Got drenched this am heading in to take the boys to the children's play gallery, impressive amount of water all at once on the interstate. Felt like driving through a shallow pond for most of the way in. Beautiful out now, though.

Better get to work cleaning the dog room. Puppies due next week.

Packer Evening All....Have the weber fired for corn on the cob and suzie has back-up with Quesadilla's with left over grilled chicken and venzun steak and wild turkey breast...and pepper jack cheese of course.

Not feeling like processing either Hurley, but the canner is full of water and the deed for the unruley ones needs to be done, first thing in the morning. I like happy hens.

The standing seam steel roof is done....pleased with it for sure. I need to shop for seamless gutters yet CC, cause my roof guy doesn't do them and the guy he was using is not a recommended guy now? Glad I'm not gonna be the unhappy cusstomer....
gig.gif

Picked our first 2 tomatoes today....pretty for sure. Gave the flock a huge zuke today cut in half....it was reduced to just skin....picked a 5 gal pail of cukes and gave them to my good neighbor.

GO PACK.....
