Good Morning Everyone! Got the stupid box back yesterday.

Started out trying to use the touch pad instead of the mouse.

Pack puts another one in the win box but just as importantly so did the Lions.

Would have liked to see the end of that game! I've got several bags of apples in the garage from the DD's house some really good eatin apples and some really good pie apples. Looks like it's gonna rain through Weds now so will get some pies in the freezer, gonna follow Suzies advise and not cook them. One thing I don't remember SIS do you thaw them completely before baking them? I would think so. LMAO at a parott on an episode of Bad Dogs that a guy bought. Seems that the previous owners had a newborn baby. The parrot kept crying just like it. Don't think I'd be owning that parrot for very long. I would love to have one, I'd teach it to mess with the cats.

Hope to get the closet painted today. Yup Cind L will be happy. She never complains about anything!

And I can do whatever I want anytime I want.

FT can't believe you didn't strip down and rip around the house on the 4 wheeler to the window.

And I can see the look on ET's face followed by a heavy sigh when you tell him what YOU did.

tiki that's just sad about the chicks and the bad mama! Really think the jungle fowl are neat looking! So much more to address but's it's gone for now. And so am I. Have a good one!

Just a quick good morning to all today! I had to switch my clients around because one has a dental appt today...so it's an early day for me...not such a good day for it--I just feel like going back to bed! RAIN! DARK! SLEEP! I sure dont know how you night owls stay awake all night and hit the bed at 6AM!
Tili--do you only have the one Game bird? I really want to get soem of them. Is yours standard or bantam? They had a standard at the show and he was fantastic looking. I guess I would want to show them though and then you have to dub ears, wattles and comb...dont wanna do that! The judge at our fair was saying how if they have their comb and all it changes the whole look of the bird. He disqualified one that wasnt dubbed.
I read back on my posts and I couldnt figure out a couple of things...what Susie wanted me to get at the Amish store and what CC thought I should write a complaining email about....HMMMM.
DrH--I believe that you would bake those pies from frozen. IF you thawed the crust would get all soggy and fall. The ones from the store you always bake from frozen....must be the same. Susie?
FT that cabbage head thing sounds interesting for sure! Kind of like boiled dinner with hamburger instead of corned beef...now that is something I could stand to have for dinner...DH wants stew. Oh sh!t...I was supposed to get that into the slow cooker this morning....now I am really behind! Guess I get to make it on the stovetop for today...gonna try some GF dumplings on the top too...so hungry for dumplings!

Good soggy morning All!!.
DH came home sick again.. I am gonna make him go to the doctor if this continues.
I went to feed in the break in the rain, noticed ALL the mud and talked to the handy man about putting the chains on Joan's tractor.
he said he wanted to hear it from her, so I called her, she was waiting to board on the plane, and needs a ride from the Madison airport
to where her car is at a relatives house in Madison.
But yes she thought with all the rain we have had, and will have, she should have the chains on the tires.
The hay bales and the barnyard are mud bogs.
I got an egg from the new chickens. I think it must be from H&R's DS's hens, I think the frizzles are too young unless its from the silkie...


How do you trim/cut the ears from a game bird??? bleh...

TO I have bantams and they are no problem whatsoever. They dont fight with the other roos and just pretty much take care of themselves. People just show the cockerels up to 1 year undubbed and the females if you dont want to dub. I dont dubb. They look funny at first but once you get to kbnow their personality they are awesome.



It looks like I am going to have to go to the laundromat and dry all my wet clean clothes

Lots going on - not enough time for posting on BYC lately! I saw some familiar faces in Portage over the weekend and decided it was time to pop in and say hi!

Didn't come home from Portage with any new birds, since it's looking more and more like we're going to be moving mid-winter, but we did come home with these little sweeties:

I also wanted to share a picture of this big guy - remember little "Boo" from the Bash this June? He's getting huge! He's a gentle giant though, and we actually have him in with one of our Mottled Bantam Cochin hens - her mate died this summer (we think it was the heat) and she was lonely and depressed, so we took a chance and put Boo in with her. She cheered up and now they're the best of friends. We're a little worried about what's going to happen when he starts trying to mate with her though...

Raimel glad to hear about your eyes! Didn't know they did glasses with anti glare, that would be MOST helpful. I'm pretty much night blind and try to avoid being out after dark in areas without street lights, but sometimes you just can't avoid it (like winter!)

Looks like everyone had a great time at the chicken show. Maybe someday I'll actually get to go to one! Right about the same time I can actually get some chickens!

SF cute kitties, almost makes me want another one... ALMOST. But then I look at my worthless furniture decorations and that desire is quickly extinguished!!

We were actually just talking about trying again to find a buddy for little Murphy, and DH said maybe a small dog like him, but then we thought about how yippy small dogs can be and decided against it. Neither of us is up for a puppy, which sadly may be the only way to have a dog that doesn't want to harass the cats.

That's about all I can remember for now...oh CC the 15th is fine with me, long as I have some notice so I don't schedule myself in for a shift that day!

Thought about putting down the plastic and letting natrue do the work for me, just now sure how DH would feel about me doing it all over the front yard! If it were the back yard I doubt he'd care. Guess I should ask him what he thinks, then I'd know for sure!

My regular client ended up in hospital w/ankle fracture so I had today off and we spent to morning driving over to Ft. Atkinson and have some fellas coming in an hour to look at our place, going to get our wood burner! DH was hoping he could get it quite a bit cheaper, but after looking around and finding one we REALLY like, he wisely consented to get the one we really liked. After running around all morning we came home and took a nap,which I generally don't do, but picked up a 10 hour overnight shift to make up for missing work today and not knowing when my other client will resume care. I've worked with this client a couple of times and it'll be nice to see her again, but I do so hate midnights, even if you can cat nap while there. I never really want to sleep as I'd be afraid of not hearing her if she needed help... oh well, what's one night without sleep?

Well, off to see what I can do... have a REAL bad case of the antsies... quitting smoking bites patch or no patch!! But I don't have a choice, I sure as heck don't want DH starting up again with his heart problems!!! *sigh* Well, at least so far I haven't been

and no one has gotten hurt yet... guess that's good!

Good for you for quitting Deb! Just think, you wont have to worry about going outside during dinner any more! I could name lots of other good things but I wouldnt want to offend anyone who still has the habit! Ya know, the shelter I work with tests their dogs with cats and will say if they are good with them or not. Here is their link..you can check out the dogs and see if there are any that you like. If you get preapproved for adoption you can pretty much be guaranteed the dog you want. Speaking of pets....Sweet Folly! Doug (H&R's DH) was trying to get me to take those kittens home! That was sooo funny to see their pic on here! Better you than me I say! Congrats on your new furbabies!

My stew is cooking but my client and I went out for Mexican at lunch (2:30) and I am stuffed! DH may be eating stew all alone! Speaking of...he is home now. So OSHA was at his work today cause some kid got electrocuted a month back or so he says they will get fined for it. At least the kid will be OK...he crawled into a heating duct to free a brush that was stuck and grabbed the wrong thing...scarey!

Man I sure hope the sun is shining tomorrow...I NEED some sun! Gotta run and make my dumplings! WHat's for supper at your place Brent and Sis? Who else is cooking? Terri O

TO we had cereal tonight lol, just one of THOSE days!?

I'm loving my new glasses, I can see again and the night driving is better for me

Forgot what else I was gonna say. My mom stuck her foot in her mouth AGAIN! this time she really ticked me off, don't want to tell the WHOLE story but just to prove my point in her sticking her foot in her mouth and so You know that I'm not just being a braty "kid". she told me to get rid of this OLD microwave that I have at the camper and that it's probably why my MIL died of cancer.

See what I mean. that was 3 weeks ago Sunday and yesterday I FINALLY went over there to spend some time with her and all she did was cut down shows that I watch and people that I care about, not to mention MAJOR gossip

after 2.5 hours of this I had enough and I went home, tucked the kids in bed and had a drink. she could drive the Pope into drinking till drunk. Seriously if you can't say something nice..... thats why I'm done now lol

ok what else is up, I'm so tired I can't think. this rain can GO AWAY! all right I'm out of here

good afternoon, , I am going to reply, hit and miss.. I just read about 4 pages..

TO, what kind of judging show was that ? I never heard of docking except for fighting cocks.. with that is mind, how could a judge condone the action, much less disqualify a bird for NOT being docked..???

I made 4 pints of catsup yesterday.. just to see if I could do it..
I even gave them a water bath so they would keep.. I had about an extra cup of it but other than tasting it as I was reducing it, I don't know how it tastes.. the sampling tasted good, though..
It is a bit grainier than the commercial kind. I took all the seeds and that slimey stuff out and just used the pulp.. then I ran it all through the blender before cooking it down..

I cooked up a nice batch of beef ribs.. I make my BBQ sauce from scratch.. I bake the ribs in the sauce, the only way they should be cooked.. Having some for supper tonight.. always better the second day..

The newfoundland dogs are not mine.. somebody on wausau cr-list has them , but she kept getting deleted.. I just happened to see the ad just before it got scrubbed again..

we had a short but very windy storm pass through about 4PM today.. I don't think there any apples left on the tree..

I know there was more, but I can't think of it right now.. maybe later..

Annie freezes her apples sliced up for pies.. I don't think she thaws them before she bakes the pies, though..

Foggy evening all.

Managed to rain here all day again

Dr H...the wonderful thing about taking the pie from the freezer is that it's ready to bake. I take a glass pie plate and lightly spray with vegetable spray. Then tip the frozen pie from the foil pan and place in the glass pan for baking, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar, cut slits in the top crust and bake at 450 for 15 min then turn oven down to 350 and bake until done and crust turns golden brown...about 45 min. depending on your oven.

TO...was thinking that the amish store here sells gluten free flour.

FT... I make stuffed cabbage rolls and wrap them individually and then freeze them in gallon freezer bags. Then when we want some for meal, we just take out what we want which is usually 3. Plus I'll make boiled dinner too with it. And if there is any left from making stuffed rolls I'll just freeze that in a bag for a seperate meal.

What's for supper???? Tonight it's 3 bean chili. YUM! Apple pudding cake for dessert!
