Good morning! I sure wish I had your problem CInd and "frozen"
I have too many eggs and no customers! I think I only sell 6 dozen a week. When I had fewer eggs I had customers stopping--I tell ya, it's Murphy's Law at work again!
Carol and I had a great ride last night...been a while since I rode off the road at night. It was fun. I was wishing it was lighter though so I could have seen more of Joan's place. Just got done looking at the satellite view of where we rode...very cool! THe pony rides went well and I made $35 for the shelter. The kids must have been having fun because they came back 2 and 3 times to ride again! Only had one screamer and he was a real little guy! Wouldnt even stay up there long enough to take his pic! I think my horse would make a good therapeutic riding horse...he was very patient even when I let the more adventuresome kids ride him on their own! Carol--did you find your hen this morning?
So to day is another dog event "Barktoberfest." It is for the shelter in my county. Dont know if I will go yet...depends if DH wants to go...prolly not, he looks pretty comfy sitting in his recliner!
FT--Loved your directions for the soup! No wonder you were in the kitchen all day...takes a while to do the cutting, wash and get the pics taken for that step! I could almost smell that sausage, onion and celery cooking! MMMMM!
Nice pics of you and your chickens Robin! I like your coop...did you use pallets for the roof section? It kind of looked like you might have. I am so surprised that you actually have GRASS where your birds are! My ducks and geese must eat more than I realize!
I was dumb and didnt remember to fill the quart waterer for the quail in the TV yesterday before I left...I had one little stiff one when I got home
I just hate it when you lose something from your own fault! Makes me feel really bad! I have to grind some more feed for them today...soon they will all be on the pellet as it comes out of the bag. OK Jim this is pretty weird...my light was out over the quail in the basement yesterday too! (this is really getting spooky!) Mine already have their feathers so I dont think it was too big of a deal...just had to add that--it is very interesting that stuff happens to both of us at the same time! (I am glad you didnt break your toe though, that sucker is pretty painful right now!) I am wondering if I should try to tape it to it's next door neighbor? I dont know if I could get my boot on then...
We are out of coffee this morning....a very sad thing. This tea is not really doing it for me! Maybe another cuppa? I thought tea had more caffeine than coffee?
I am thinking on finishing that duck fence today and making doors for my additional little pens. I have to start separating these birds so I know which ones I will butcher! I want to do some stewing hens too...(now that I know how to make GF dumplings!) but I think that will be hard...
I yanked that hen out of the pen that had the 4 babies. The black one was nice but the white one would come at my hand every time to put food and water in for them. SORRY--biting the hand that feeds you gets you yanked out! I put up with her for long enough in there! THe babies are just about ready to tell me who are boys and who are girls so it was time! The late hatcher Mama is doing fine with her babies...the duck not so much! She still has them all but she has a hard time keeping them together! I hate hearing peeping frantic babies! Cind--that is the Mom of Turk's baby too and that one is getting really big...I think it is a roo. I will try to get an updated picture today. He is pretty shy so it is hard! THe lone pigeon is still alive...it roosts under the eve in the corner so it must be invisible to the owl. THe two new babies are ready to come out so maybe I can lure him into a cage with them...
OK that is all I have to say...anxious to see your completed aviary H&R! I think it will be neat! My neighbor has black pheasants I think...maybe your DH needs more? LOL!
Have a fantastic day everyone--stay safe! Terri O
(PS) nice to have an update on you and yours Raiq! We really need to see the kids' pics!!!!
