Maybe RobinL can bring my silkie cochin hen and get my mom's geese and then Angiebubs can come take 2 more of my pullets. And I'm fairly certain someone needs a cochin rooster because that would be perfect.

here, let me try again.. I hit the wrong key and deleted my last post.. I was just started, so not much lost..

the guy did not show up to look at the Thai game fowl.. who picked "no" on the pool? I actually thought he was going to show up..

Now I am half tempted to not sell these chickens.. I came into contact with a guy who breeds Thai Game Fowl (TGF) who is only a couple of miles from me.. I think I will try to pick his brain and maybe go more heavily into the TGF..

I have another guy interested in the TGF, but I am not much interested in selling to him.. I got bad vibes from him..

My BFF brought me a 12 yard load of rotten granite this morning.. I got the guinea yard filled in and one spot on the driveway fixed.. weather permitting, I will go at the driveway some more tomorrow.. DrH, you should bring your Ford up here and we could play all afternoon.. I had the rear wheels off the ground once already.. that is always a thrill.. LOL

Cind, that chicken is not a cross of any kind.. I had the TGF segregated for months.. I did not hatch any of their eggs after I turned them loose.. and it looks like a rooster to me..

Up here, 51 is 39 until just north of Merrill.. It is a straight shot to 90/94 just south of Portage.. good road and 65MPH all the way.. put it in cruise, and kick back and take a nap..

I am tired tonight..

I juiced all the blackberries for wine.. removed all the seeds and gave them to the birds..I have some pulp fermenting to remove more juice.. made one batch of simple syrup to add tomorrow.
then we will have 5 gallons of grape and 10 gallons of blackberry working..

WHOOO HOOO!!!!! I just got a call from the brother of my neighbor...his friend got a doe tonight and they are bringing it over tomorrow! YEAH! Venzun for the freezer! I am so happy I am delirious....ok well, maybe not delirious but really happy just the same!

Birds are going thru a molt, pretty low egg counts this week. Waiting on 6 new pullets to start up; red combs, squatting, it's time! Terri, you said something about looking for eggs when the roos of the same age started crowing. My Buckeye roos have been crowing for weeks, no egg from the pullet though.

Late Quick post....yep my buckeyes are laying and some of the blue ones from Jim. The doz today had 3 blue eggs in it along with buckeyes and some of the java/buck crosses. The blue ones are slow to grow as you all know.

I'd bring my Ford up to help Jim....but it's dead by the shed... lol! Might get it running and trade it for something that is more reliable.... you know, like starts when i need it!

I didn't get around to canning today. The weather around here was too beautiful to be inside. Sounds like plenty of inside weather is coming, though.

I got all the chicken waterers & rabbit hoppers scrubbed and bleached out today. And I got most of my planters & garden decor stuff put away for the winter. Really should have washed it up a little but was too lazy. Mom is feeling a little better today, so that is good. I, on the other hand, am feeling like she shared her illness......

Robin.... Yep, My Aunt who lived in Grandview had 8 kids, now they all have kids.... odds are pretty good you'd wave at 1 of them in a day! Plus my dad and his 2nd family and his sister's families! D@mn! There's got to be a hundred or more by now between Hayward and Ashland!

Jim....Hummm.... cool about the "chicken!" I heard it try to mimic the guinea's honk today... came out more like a pathetic peep! Since it thinks it's a guinea...I guess I'll have to confine it (and the guineas) and see if it lays eggs or crows! How old when they mature? I thought that that kind of chicken was darker? And the black pattern looks "Delaware-ish" to me.

Good Very Wet Morning All! Looks like we're all gonna get some rain today. Uh Oh Amy now the bite marks will be higher up and you'll have suprise attacks from behind. I remember biting the youngest DD back one time, she quit doing it after that.

Jim we could meet at Bigz and SIS's and take turns dragging his tractor around their yard, bring a gallon or two of your finest we'll have a great time! Sounds like that guy is gonna get his very soon!

Looking hard at some Black Australorps but really don't want to start chicks at this time of year. But on the other hand they would be laying come spring. Would have to keep them in the house for quite awhile and it gets pretty hot on the back porch with the wood stove being back there. But if I put the tv on the floor it might be alright and could move them to the enclosed front porch after feathering out with a heat lamp. But just think of all the bonding we could do this winter! Then there's the issue of another coop oh god help me...... Think it was Robin that asked about TO's avitar it's one of her torts. Donny called last night the rotten granite is being delivered this morning at 8. Hope the rain subsides a little cause I know he's gonna want to get it leveled no matter the weather.

Better get something warm in me glad I greased up my work boots. Bigz hope you can get out in the woods soon to relieve that itch. The leaves really came off last weekend and the woods are opening up nicely. Have a great one!
