good evening, to shoot or not to shoot, that is the question.. I am not negative to shooting a nuisance animal.. I doubt that you will see that wolf again..
those halter marks look as if they put that halter on when it was just a colt and never touched it again.. judging by the short space between the ears and the mark on his face.. his head was much shorter back then.. his shyness is probably more from lack of training, than anything else.. If they didn't bother to adjust his halter, then they didn't ride him much , either..
Dan, I use 4 parts corn to 3 parts oats.. but 50/50 is ok too.. I am using 4 to 3 right now for the laying flock and getting good egg production. the shells are thin, but not fragile..
I got all the cukes and squash hilled and watered today.. tomorrow I want to add a bit of manure and then mulch the hills.. soon I will have to stake the tomatoes.. they sure are growing nicely..
I had to turn the temp down on the new brooder.. it was 117F this morning.. no wonder the chicks slept outside.. I got it down to 82F at last check.. I will check it once more before going to bed.. their "night light" burned out already.. I put a new 25W red tinted bulb in there..
I sat out on the lawn in the shade of the black walnut trees this morning for coffee.. It was like a mini safari.. first the two big dogs came to check me out, then three peafowl, then a small flock of guineas and then the three pups came to get their bellies scratched,, and finally 6 geese came and laid down all around my chair.. I'll bet my blood pressure was waaaaay low..
still need a bit of rain..
