Thanks again everyone for your condolences
She was just a silly hen I know, but she was a life that had been put in my care and I became really attached to her. She really was special. I could do whatever I needed to do to take care of her (washing bottom, shoving stuff down her throat, etc.) and she never once put up a real fight tho I did have to chase her a few times when she knew what was coming (I said she was gentle, not stupid! hehe)
Like I said before, tho in the past I have lived on an actual farm, I made a lousy farmer because everything got names and nothing got eaten but the grass!
(oh yea, the eggs and milk too because I was a lacto-vegetarian at the time). Even now I tell everyone my girls are strictly for
eggs and entertainment!
Ghost Rider~ WOW!
How hard autumn must be for you, especially around the first holiday. Hope you don't mind if I add you to my prayer list.
Cindlady ~ that is the one thing I think I miss most about where we used to live before moving to the middle of nowhere. There used to be Breadmaster (?) shop less than a mile from us. It would open early in the morning and the smells!!! Each day they did all the regular breads plus one special and there would be a line every morning before they opened . On Sundays they would do something yummy like an apple bread and we would grab a fresh warm loaf, a pot of coffee and a pile of sunday papers, heaven!!! Oh and of course a crusty loaf of something for Sunday dinner
There is no bakery anywhere near us that has that level of quality and skill and I really miss it.
Have a great weekend everyone!!! Hope you all have a great time at the bash!!!!
