On my lunch break from work i went and pick up some Corid for my chicks I suspect have Cocci. I realized after I got back to work that instead of a teaspoon per gallon of water I gave a Tablespoon!

Is this going to hurt them? I gave them the medicine around 11:30 andI dont get off till 5. I dont know how harsh or toxic this medicine is and i dont want anything else bad to happen to my chicks. If this is to much what do i need to do? As soon as i get off i am going to give them the correct dose. Will they be ok till then?

I think they should be okay. In that amount of time they may not have consumed all the water anyhow. Maybe you can just give them a bit less than the teaspoon dose tonight and go back the regular dose tomorrow.

Thank you for the quick response! I will change the doasage as soon as i get home.

I have the liquid. I went straight home from work and made a new batch of Corid water with the correct dosage. They all seemed fine. Do you think that short amount of time would hurt them?

They should be fine. Are you using Corid powder 1/2 tsp per gallon of water or Corid liquid 2 tsp per gallon of water. You could also reduce(for today) the new batch of Corid water. Tomorrow dose with the correct amount.

Corid liquid. 2 tsp per Gallon of water. I just wasn't sure because this was made for larger animals how much would be to much. Is it better to just make a new batch of this each day?

You were within the high end of the amprolium limits so should be fine. Just continue with the normal dosing from here on out. Afterwards please give them a good probiotic and some vitamins for a day or two.

Thank you so much everyone! I messed up and I would feel horrible if I hurt them. I have some Poly-Vi-Sol to give them after treatment. I got some regular yogurt for them as well. Will the yogurt be ok for a probiotic or is there something else I should give them? I know their food also has probiotics and in it.
