Wry neck from INJURY/fighting

I'm sure with all you're doing for her she'll be feeling better soon! :fl for a speedy recovery :hugs

As for the fighting; are yours still in a brooder? It seemed like overnight at about 4 weeks old mine started bickering and looking back I think it was a lack of space because as soon as we got them into their outside space it seemed to abate.
they are, the brooder is quite large, but i had considered this. Im going to be moving them outside tonight, due to the massive local heatwave being over...ish now. But i really hope that quells the bickering and fighting in the flock!! thank you so much for the warm wishes! :hugs:)

Yup, follow all the recommendations of BYC peeps. I went thru this last fall. It was a survivor from a weasel attack. Takes time and patience. But it is doable.
ok! did your hen survive the treatment? I think i get discouraged just by looking at her all scraggly looking and just sitting there... :(

I didn't notice until just now but "Howdy Neighbor!" :highfive: That heat and the humidity were awful! I got some great suggestions yesterday for keeping chicks cool in the heat so let me know if you need any suggestions when it warms up again!

I'm worried for later this summer; the smoke from wildfires has been SO bad these past two years I'm worried for my chickies!

Yes she did. I wish I knew how to direct you to the conversations to the whole ordeal. I think maybe under diseases/injuries. But we had to syringe her fluids in several times a day. It is time consuming, I know, but well worth it. IF you can devote the time to the treatment. I understand life gets in the way.

Added note here....she had a gimp from nerve damage but everything else returned to normal.....until the new neighbors bird dog was allowed to “freerange”. My birds were fenced in.

Neighbor!!!! :wee:frow:frow
Yeah, i dont like hot summers so im hoping to have a mild summer. i hope this recent weather is not a taste of what summer is going to be like. Hoping for limited wildfires, too. Im in an area that isnt typically too affected by them much thank goodness, but i lived through many wildfires in colorado, and they are hell:rant
