Wtf Are These White Mold-looking Spots on my Pumpkin's Comb?

I personally think it is fowl pox. If it was just dryness it shouldn’t have been swollen like that. He looks really bad in the swelling department.
Still a bit odd given there's no mosquitoes over there. And they don't interact with the other chickens, yet everyone else is fine.

I'm starting to think what Pumpkin has is actually Favus, a Fungal Infection, which makes more sense. I tried doing some research, and while all three of the mentioned conditions in this thread all appear the same, this one's making more sense. He doesn't have these white spots on the rest of his body, just his face. It explains why the others don't have anything similar.

There's this flock of wrens that like to try and eat a the layer crumbles, so if he came into contact with them (or just the mix of everything in the area) then it makes perfect sense.

A long while back, Pumpkin was the only one in the flock to come down with Cocci, and he had bloody stools; it was also confirmed by the vet. Treatment was easy, and I did a prevntative with the others. He was the only one to have it.

Iidone is still the treatment to use as well, and I'm stocked up on other things. I'll probably apply some wound ointment before he goes to bed tonight. I think if I go at him with both at certain points of the day, he should be fine.

It may be scabs from the fighting.

Looks like pustules on the comb with the last photos. Possibly from injury.

Fuvus is a white powdery/crusty fungal infection. Treatment is with athlete's foot cream.
Fighting would really cause white spots? I've never seen it when he'd fight with his father and brother. I know only two hens that would beat the crap outta him, but not to this extent. ...Well, maybe Smokey, but still.

Morning Update.

It looks like the Iodine is doing its job. I think one or two of these spots have actually popped open on their own and leaked out, but nothing looks any worse from where it was. Hell, these spots don't even have that mold-like look anymore.

They haven't spread any further, so the chance of it being Fowl Pox is pretty minimal. It could still be Favus, or the third theory is either Smokey or Georgia did him in pretty good this time. The swelling is still there, but it seems like it's gone down some since I gave him turmeric.

I'm gonna keep on with this treatment since it seems to be working well enough. But here's some before and after shots from this morning.

Now I'm positive this isn't Fowl Pox. Visiting my girls as of this message, and no one has the spots Pumpkin does. I think that theory can be thrown out the window. One of my hens looks like she has quiet the dryness going on, so I may need to look at coconut oil in the future. Or more Hen Healer.

That means he either did get beaten up, likely by one of my two hens that would, or it's a mild case of Favus.

Even the other flock looks fine as well.

It's the next morning, and this is where we're at. I started using a qtip to get more direct contact with the iodine, and I'm using Hen Healer Ointment to help combat and discomfort. He's been such a trooper.

Morning Update.

He's just about over whatever this is. The Iodine + Hen Healer Treatment has been working beautifully. He'll be rejoining the girls today.

After looking at all the pictures, and reading through, I think this was injury to the comb and those spots are/were pus. Probably caused the swelling also. I would continue what you are doing until it's all healed up, since it does appear to be improving. If fighting is the cause, you may need to separate some birds to prevent it from happening again.

Wow, this was all injuries? I wonder if maybe his sister is the cause of it all. My top hen doesn't really attack, but keeps him in his place. But his sister, Smokey, she's the only one that'll go after him; she's got a zero tolerance policy, lol. The odd thing is, some spots appeared on his face (staying on his right side), but those are going away now. -sigh- Never a dull moment with these birds.

One thing's for sure, I've never seen injuries like this before. I've seen blood, missing toes, missing spurs, but never this. One thing's for sure, when we're finally at the new house, and I have a proper coop and run for them, this shouldn't be much of an issue anymore.

Also, he and his sisters are gonna be 2yrs in October, so hopefully he starts calming down and getting the memo XD
