I don't think I've ever seen a tiger salamander before. I find a salamander in the chicken's water pan once in a while but they don't look like that.

We've been finding some tiny snakes about 6" long. They have a pointed tail and are fat. They don't really look like bull snakes or rattlers. And they are way too quick to get a picture of. :hmm

Over 90 degrees here right now. Ugh!

Watch for an upturned nose. It is possible that they could be Hog-nosed snakes.

You can see how small it was because it is in the purslane.

Bob says that is what we have been seeing.. they are hog-nosed snakes. So guess they aren't anything to worry about. Too small to eat chickens and not poisonous. So I'm okay with them. They probably eat bugs and maybe mice? We have plenty of both...:hmm

Yep, insects, mice and they love the little toads.

Nooooooo not the little toads!! I love little toads.....
I do too but if all the little toads survived, we would be quickly overrun with them. Before my goldfish and Rosy Red minnows began reproducing, i used to easily produce at least 1200 little toads every year just from that one little pond.
