I only have two blue egg layers, and they decided to both molt in the latter part of November, right before Thanksgiving.
I have hopes that I can give really nice half dozens of eggs (in beautiful, clear cartongs that I bought especially for gifts) to people for Christmas gifts.
The half dozen eggs were to be in a rainbow of egg colors: dark brown eggs, then blue eggs, then pinkish/brown eggs. The egg collections in those really nice clear plastic cartons are absolutely stunning.
But my plan looked threatened when my only two blue egg layers went into the molt.
Thank heavens -- my first blue egg layer resumed egg laying Monday, and the second one resumed this morning!
Merry Chickmas, one and all!
