Hey! I have a mixed flock. 2 Buff Orps, a Golden Comet, some RIR's (not my favorite), a Blue Copper Marans. I have a Splash Marans Roo, and a RIR Roo that is soon bound for the crock pot. He is evil. I just hatched some Marans eggs. Just building my flock. Can't wait to get some Americanas in there.

Um...forget my last post ...I no longer need to re-home that Swedish Flower Hen roo or the Wyandotte roo. A hawk snatched 5 of my chickens today. FIVE! Pulled one's head off trying to get it through the cage. The hawk sat on the clothes line post waiting for me to split so he could finish the job. Grrrrr

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on here all week. I've got a mixed flock, with the majority being Black Copper Marans. I've also got an Ameraucana, an Ameraucana/ BCMs mix, a RIR/Buff Orp mix, an Easter Egger, & some games. How about you?

That is rough. I let mine out in the backyard all day and am wondering if and when I am gonna get a visit from a stinken hawk. I have a Dominique cockerel that I am hoping will butch up and help against them. We shall see.

I'll jump in on the newbie learning. I'm in Calhoun. I have a flock of 10 plus 3 chicks just out of the inc. and 2 with a broody hen. I spend a lot of time lurking on this site.
