My darling husband told me to go ahead and order the chicks I want for next year. Just placed the order with MPC for 2 Partridge Silkies, 2 Buff Silkies, 2 Blue Silkies and 2 Olive Eggers to be shipped on June 1. Hope they get the order correct this time. Had a few hick-ups last time.![]()
So jealous!
I think he felt sorry for me. We lost our Red Star last Sunday night and I cried my eyes out. It upset him too. She was always running up to us and talking her chicken talk. She was also the one to jump in your lap or on your back if you were sitting or bending over working on something. She was a sweet girl. Flowerbh I hope you are able to get the chicks you want too!Glad you got the order in before he changes his mind..![]()
Yes! Pictures please! I would love to see what they look like.I'll have to take a picture of my cute little cuckoo silkies!
Ours did fine last year even on the 5 degree low nite with high 11 the next day…without heat in coop. But make sure no drafts, leaving some ventilation in the coop. The biggest problem is to make sure unfrozen Buwater is available early morning when they get up.Hey Yall, this is my first winter with chickens....and its supposed to be in the 20's tonight in Athens.... do my girls need a heat lamp? They have not had one up to this point and i know we've had a couple of nights already at freezing. Thanks!
