YO GEORGIANS! :)

Okay. I have a silly question but I have to bc I have NO clue.

I'm thinking of getting a pair of d'Uccles. I'm poking around on a thread and see that people keep their littles in with their LF? Which is fine.. But in doing so, you CAN still be sure the tiny little eggs are pure, right?? I mean, I don't see a LF/d'Uccle breeding working out, on multiple levels.

It sure would be SWEET if that's the case!! I was thinking I'd have to have totally separate quarters. (Which would be okay but you know)
I got rid of my LF rooster because i didn't want him trying to fertilize my MF and killing her.

You guys who went to Newnan never really commented on it.  What did you think?
I really enjoyed it. It was a LOT to take in, especially since I'd never been to anything like it. I was sad about our timing though; we got there just before lunch and there were lots of drawings/raffles to enter (particularly in one Marans tent.. Eggs, trios, etc), but the drawings weren't until 4pm and I just didn't plan to stay that long. I thought things/people would be packing up after lunch but it didn't seem so.

Some things were pretty spread out. There was a LF tent I REALLY wanted to go in but they had the whole tent blocked for judging..? Which seemed strange. The other tents they just blocked a row at a time. We didn't go back to see but I wish we had. There were some impressive crows coming from that one!

I learned bantams are a HUGE market. Bantams EVERY_WHERE. I never would have guessed. Which is one reason I'd like to try a bantam breed for a bit and see what interest is there.

Overall I really enjoyed it. I was sad DS got upset over not having a rabbit :lau but he turned it around. I think it was a lot to take in for him too.. He just had too much to choose from when we said a chicken was ok and couldn't choose anything! LOL

You know, people like the bantams, but I don't see a lot of use for them except the roosters are cute. I mean, you can't really eat them and the eggs are too small to sell unless you want to package them as "eggs for kids". My big girls have to earn their own food, so I need the bigger eggs.

ITA. I don't get it either.

Speaking of earning their own food, this one blue layer I have is floating the entire operation over here :gig The chicks that hatched yesterday were sold before they even fluffed up!!

Oh yeah, and next weekend's are already spoken for too.. As long as the lady can still come get them. :)
