Good news, bad news and tragic news:
The good: My hens hatched 5 babies a few days ago. Cute little critters!
The bad news: Have 5 broody hens = less eggs!
The tragic news: We lost our beautiful, wonderful huge Brahma Rooster, Beau. He was my DH's love! All the renters loved Beau! We're not sure what happened, but we found him in a heap with his head under his massive body. His neck was broken. He was fine that morning. When I found him, he was still warm so it had just happened. All I can think of is somehow he was jumping off the roost and landed funny on the smaller roost below and felt backwards on his head and his body flipped onto his neck?????? DH is crushed!!! He LOVED that rooster! We found a woman who lives just about 20 miles from my daughter in FL who was listed on the Brahma Breeder Club who has eggs from Blue Partridge Brahmas, so when we go to FL for Christmas we are bringing back some eggs so we can hatch some more Beaus.

I am so heartbroken to hear that! Poor Beau... and poor you and Mr Flower! I love all my chicks I've hatched from him, and our rooster from him is so big and gorgeous. He made some pretty and sweet babies for sure! I'll miss seeing all your pictures of him.Good news, bad news and tragic news: The good: My hens hatched 5 babies a few days ago. Cute little critters!
