YO GEORGIANS! :)

There is a place out near Grovetown off Gordon Highway that has TONS. They don't keep them in the best of conditions sometimes so I love to have to "rescue" some from them. I could give you her number. I think I have it saved somewhere. They have lots of different breeds. Got our beautiful blue cochin from them and our little game hen.

to all those new GA peeps. Glad to see we are still growing.

Can you guys recommend any where in the Griffin/Pike/Jackson area for purchasing some hens? DH and I are new to this and we're looking for some Orpingtons, RIRs, or Rock Barred (I think we want these).

Thanks!

I am in that area but don't have any hens at the moment for sale.. I have some RIR chicks .. There is another couple of users in the Jackson area.. Woodchips and Tiff A. They might have some hens available.

Welcome to the world of chickens... let us know what you find.

I can testify for Shelly! Just saying hope all of you have a Happy and Blessed Fourth of July!!!! Looks like a sunny day for Georgia with a chance of afternoon rain. We farmers need that rain. Thought we'd get some last night.....I think it must have been heat thunder....No rain, but the promise of it is wonderful!!! Well it's been a crazy blessed week on the farm. Our green house tried to start a fire, well, it smouldered. This was the same one that the sheer force winds broke the 2 by 4's holding down the plastic on. Apparently on the half where the plastic remained, it was dry enough under neath that the "commercial" plastic covering acted like a magnified and sparked the dry area under neath!!! Tomorrow I'll call the Green house retailer about this phenomenaof the cover....We had no idea that could happen!!! Major learning experience. No harm was done to the structure or nearby coops...Thank you Lord. Then hubby had the cutest hatch yesterday..... He tells me to slow down hatching and His REALLY BIG hatch was 3 yesterday:

1. white chinese gosling
1 guinea
1 Bourbon Turkey

You see he's been have me wash "eating eggs" and he snuck these eggs in....javascript:insert_text('

Some of you know how crazy he is what I call the "non poultry" ducks, gesse, turkeys and guineas!!!! (Presently have about 50 unsold keets and poults so if you're in the market please let me know! . He set up the heat lamp on a brooder just for them!!! Photo to be posted later...

Well, I'm almost as bad, I put our sweet little Skunk, (actually a beautiful Netherland Dwarf, with blue eyes) with her husband in time for a July 4th hatch of her own... Photos to follow of Skunk building her nest will follow and I will go check for babies a little later!!!!

ShellyGA and X2farm so good to see you last week and I have a BYC'er coming this morning for hatching eggs and some little Split Black Lavendar orpington chicks.

Have a wonderful and Blessed Fourth of July....(And if you need a laugh, find us here or see us on Facebook, or ask for a farm story.....You know there's alway something that makes me smile around here....No matter what happens every day though, I'm just give a big PTL for being on our farm......Saturday a little boy at market, said to me I know you - You live on the Funny farm.... LOL Yup we do!!!..Nancy and hubby and all the critters at the Garry Farm

If you start out with chicks it of course takes longer, but if you are holding them daily they will grow up to be nicer. I always buy adult birds just because it is cheaper that paying feed bills through the life of a chick.
