Young drake with Phallus Prostration

I moved him into a pen with my wild ducks two days ago and this morning when I went to take care of them I noticed his little thing hanging out. I know for certain it was not out yesterday when I took care of them. I have never seen him breed or anything, so I do not know why this happened. I cleaned him used some antibiotic ointment and hemerriod cream. I am not sure what infected/ bad looks like. The closer to the base the more pink it is then it goes to a reddish then the very tip looks black. It is all hanging out. Is this normal or does it need to be snipped off? I hate to loose it!
