Young rooster is causing some serious injurys on two hens, any ideas on how to prevent this?

I think I may try my neighbors house, they will probably make him into that "nice dinner" you talk about. Thank you!
He's a menace, and causing harm, and your pullets/ hens don't deserve this. Isolating him and hoping that he 'grows out of it' might work, but don't count on it. Do you want your hens injured again?
He could move to someone else's rooster pen, and take his chances there.
Or he could provide a nice dinner for your family, or another's.

I hope you love chicken soup because I'm pretty sure that's going to be the general consensus.
Rehoming him wouldn't be fair to other hens at his new home. So unless you can trim his nails and spurs and solve the problem?? You may have to house him separately or consider processing him.
I have a neighbor that would probably take him off me. I'll probably send him their asap.

Thanks! How long would you recommend I remove him from the rest of the flock?

A matter of months until he matures and his raging teen aged testosterone levels decrease. Realistically after reading that he is actually attacking hen rather than injuring them during breeding I am doubtful that his behavior will improve.

I would remove your rooster. Sometimes they grow out of those bad behaviors. That first spring and the hormonal surges can cause many to be too much on hens. Penning him separately until fall, or removing him entirely are your best options. If you keep him, he may be trouble next year early spring too. Some roosters take 2-3 seasons to calm down, some never do.
Thanks for the advice! Somebody said it would be fair for the hens to have the rooster around (and I have to agree), and it especially would be fair if it did take 2-3 seasons like you said. I think I'll try a neighbor and let them do what they want with him.

A good week ought to do the trick. When he is returned to the flock, he'll be further down the pecking order. Right now, he's top cock, and he's making sure everyone knows it because he's got raging hormones; that can settle down so it's worth giving him this chance. If he doesn't settle, I bet he'll taste good.
Thanks! I think I can try a week first, worst comes to worst, I have a neighbor who would likely take him off me too.
