Cream roo over Wayandotte hen...I can't remember for sure, but I think we knew pretty quick she was a female. I'd have to go back over photos and see if I have one of them as chicks. I only ended up with one hatching, and lucked out with the girl. She's really beautiful.

Got an egg from one of my mixes, either Wyandotte cream or Cochin cream..I think, given the age, it's the Wyandotte mix. Mostly because Cochins and Creams are such late layers. They're a much darker green then I thought they'd be, I'm very happy with them. Patiently waiting for the Cochin mix to...

The Wyandotte Cream cross is quickly becoming our favorite. She is extremely friendly, and really follows us around.

CCL Roo over Blue or black Cochin Hen CCLS Roo over silver laced wyandotte I wish she would have stayed outside for the pic, her colors are much richer then they seem in the barn pics.

She's only 4 months, and I am eagerly waiting for her first egg :) same for the ccl wyandotte mix, which is turning into a beatiful girl. I think they both may end up with similar colored eggs.

I had a CCL Roo over blue and black cochins. I have one female from that cross. I'll get a pic for you tomorrow. She's a dark blue, with some barring on her neck. I had two males from that cross, and they were very pretty.

CCL Roo over a barred rock hen...what would be the male and female features? I have three chicks, two differ from one. Two with splotchy white on the head, and one with a nice round spot. Any tips? I'm thinking, with my horrible male to female ratio on the pure chicks, I have two males.

I'm sticking with the feather fixer. Good protein, and all the healthy stuff that's in fermented, without the work. I won't start that up again. I've done it for almost two years, and they look the exact same right now, as six months ago on full time FF.

Keep it thicker, less water. But, they still flick their head while they eat it, and splat it on anything close by.

I did fermented feed for a long time, I stopped for two reasons. One, I got tired of lugging food out to the barn, it was freezing outside so I had to keep it in the house. Number two, my girls stopped laying, except when I switched to Feather Fixer, which has higher protein. But, fermenting the...

So,here's a question. Is there a way to fatten up our males? I'm obviously going to always have extra males, since we're hatching. And I'm wondering if I feed them separate of the females, can I get some extra weight on them? And everyone is processing around 5 months?

Ok, we'll mark them and take close pics of the heads, and see what happens. I plan for a few of these crosses, so tracking sexes is actually pretty smart. Thanks :)

So that's for sure not indicating I have two males, right? I didn't think they'd be sexable, because of the Cochin, so it threw me when they had those clear dots even while wet.

Anyone know why my Cochin Cream crosses have dots on their heads? The hens are a blue or black Cochin, Cream Roo.

So, what color eggs would my Cream Roo over red sex-link hens make? Same question for Cochin hens. I just really don't want light blue egg layers, I'd like to be able to tell all the eggs apart. Otherwise I'll have to have a separate layer flock coop and run, which we don't really want.

Thank you for answering. I have silver laced Wyandottes, but I hate them. Lol. They're just not my favorite personality. I'm not too worried about the sex-link cross being sexable at hatch, since the Creams were so easy to see the males at two weeks, even without already knowing, the boys combs...
