Hey, does anyone have, or know of anyone that has, any peahens for sale? Preferably up here in the northeast part of the state, but I know the chances of that are slim.

I've discovered that if I hatch my own eggs, I get about 50-50 hens and roos. But if I buy chicks from someone else I get waaaaaaaaaaaaay more roos. ETA: I think I managed to pick two hens and two roos out of the mixed bantam bin at Atwoods. If I'd let the guy catching them choose, I'm sure...

The air outside is pretty nasty right now. We're out in the woods so the fire shouldn't reach us, but it's close enough that it sure does stink.

I like hearing the little roos crow too. Most of this batch will probably be making to trip to POOPS with me. I got some of every main color, including a little Tuxedo (who I will be keeping for myself ).
