Happy the girls are settled in. Sorry about the loss of your FiFi. It is hard to explain sometimes what causes them to die. Still always sad to lose them.

uzisuzuki - So sorry about your dog. It is so hard to say goodbye to them. Just wanted to mention the Big R swap in Falcon tomorrow. I am bringing chicks, ducklings, goslings, turkey poults, and guinea keets. I put a detailed list out of Craigslist and the Facebook group Colorado Poultry...

You are in the right place to start. Where in Colorado are you located? Pictures of coop and chickens will help so people can see what you have available.

I know it is awful to have to wait but don't give up hope. I get 6-15 shipments of chicks every year and I have never had any get lost and never show up. I have had day old chicks delayed for 3 days and all have arrived fine.

Latestarter sorry about your loss. I agree with oshun55555. A couple years ago, I walked by one of my favorite roosters and he was fine. I walked about 15 feet away from where he was with my back toward him. When I turned around he was on the ground dead. I heard nothing and saw nothing...

There are problems with USPS shipping. The post offices are saying due to the flight cancellations from last weeks bad weather. I am hearing some packages are taking up to 10 days. There was also some hatching eggs that were returned to the sender because of the weather. If they were marked...

I think you would have a hard time with a staggered hatch in such a small incubator. As was already mentioned hatching is messy and any chicks that hatch will get gunk all over the remaining eggs. In addition if you try to boost the humidity it may cause problems with the remaining eggs. I...

There does not seem to be a pattern. It just depends on the eggs. It is strange when they are all set at the same time but some just seem to develop slower. Could be the temp difference in areas of the incubator. You would not think it would make a difference but it does. When I candle I...
