The article is well-written even though the experiment itself was inconclusive due to an insufficient number of eggs. It would be interesting to see the results of multiple runs since that would reduce the effect of random chance.
Handy list, but it has a few blanks.

Since it's an admitted repost, I think it could be improved with more in-depth explanations instead of the bare-bones definitions.

Poor girl.

It would be helpful to label the photos and, if possible, to compare the like parts of this hen with a healthy bird's internals.

Nice to see the progress of healthy chicks, but it needs build photos, dimensions, and an explanation of the setup to make it more helpful to people looking to build their own in-coop brooder. :)

I'll raise the number of stars if these features are added.

I really rushed when I did this article. When we are not brooding we remove the HW cloth which allows the brooder to serve as a hiding place and lower roost in the run. We will be brooding soon. I will update or replace the article to see if that will improve the content. Thanks for the suggestions.

Good concept. Needs more build details for the article and some shade for the pen.

Good concept, but needs details about the build and the arrangements for keeping the water in the bar from freezing.

Nice use of on-hand materials. I'm concerned about the use of a space heater close to nylon fabric. Every space heater I've ever owned had came with a warning to keep it ___ feet away from any flamable material.

A brooder plate would be safer.

A good start, but it ended just as I thought you were about to get into the details about how to implement the principles you'd laid out.

A nice verbal overview but really needs more information about how to create an appropriate setup -- space needs, shelter needs, etc. -- especially insofar as their needs differ from chickens' needs. :)

It would have been a 5-star except that there are photos missing -- probably due to the age of the article. :(
