I'd like to know how it held up in actual use, especially if the duct tape held in up to moisture and dust during the brooding period.

Nice way of giving chicks a reasonable amount of room while they're still small, but you're going to want a lid on that in a couple weeks when they start to fly.

The wire rings to hold the light and the wire divider are creative, but the brooder is very small and not well-ventilated.

Using the dimmer and the smaller bulb is good, but this brooder is tiny and ill-ventilated.

This article is useful as far as it goes, but it doesn't go very far into pros, cons, space needs, housing needs, brooding needs, etc. 1/8 acre for a dozen turkeys doesn't translate well into either "A couple BB meat birds to harvest for the holidays" or "A breeding pair (trio? ??? -- what is the usual male-to-female ratio anyway?), and their offspring for sustainable harvesting."

More depth and detail could be added to make this article more helpful.

Without being able to see how it was fastened together and how big the holes are it would be difficult to duplicate this feeder.

A possible alternative to my current problem of my largest feeder having too shallow a pan so that I get too much feed billed out onto the ground.
