An interesting setup. I don't understand the purpose of the cross, but it does seem to be a useful setup to save space in a tractor.

A horrible thing to contemplate but valuable reading for anyone who might face any form of natural disaster. Lessons well learned and passed on out of terrible experience.

Spacious and well-ventilated.

I love the rough-cut lumber.

Not bad for a "quick and dirty" conversion.

I don't understand how this coop works. It's in the garage?

How is it ventilated? How are the chickens protected from car exhaust? What are the dimensions and how is it laid out?

An excellent option for a larger flock divided into subflocks.

It would be more useful if you had included plans.

I'd love to rate this higher because the idea is fabulous, but the article is unfinished and leaves us hanging. :(

Good idea to use an existing structure this way, but the article is short on details about how the coop was built.

I almost never give a 5-star rating to a coop article that doesn't include plans, but this is one of the best-documented builds I've seen. Fabulous coop and run with many thoughtful details.

I particularly liked the solar light and the hand sanitizer dispenser.

Remarkable build for both aesthetics and design within the constraints of the environment and the HOA requirements. Fabulous build photos too, not to mention excellent use of reclaimed materials.

The only reason it's not a 5-star is that you didn't include plans.

Clever use of space and adaptation to circumstances. Not sure if there are enough details for someone else to duplicate the coop though.

I like how you took advantage of the space available next to the existing structure and put in good, big vents (though I'd have top-hinged them, myself). Also how you considered cleanout for a larger-than-usual elevated coop.

It would be great to have more photos and some plans.

Good build photos. I can see this being a useful option for grow-outs or cull cockerels in good weather/a mild climate.

A very attractive, promising coop, but the article needs work.

Dimensions, plans, more exterior shots from different angles, interior shots, reasons why design decisions were made, how decisions have worked out over time, etc. :)

I don't believe that even the most skilled of handymen could duplicate this coop from the information given. :(

The coop itself looks like a great design for hot climate housing.

Unfortunately, the article is so sketchy that it's not likely to be helpful to people looking for a coop they can build for their own chickens.

A nicely-detailed look at the progress of a coop and run to meet your needs.

It's really gratifying to see the final results.

Thank u! That means a lot! I've admired yours so much and all your tips and feedback has been so helpful! I just wish the overhangs had been greater for ventilation purposes.
