A very well written article on incubating. It has everything you need to know to start or improve your incubation. Best bit of advice is don't buy a cheap incubator they can be unreliable at best and have inconsistent readings. This leafs to constant monitoring and poor hatches. Great article.

I think the best way to deter them is keeping food and water sources out of the open. Making the run as unappealing as possible will help to make them move on.

This is a great idea. There are also loads of 'spent' hens from battery farms that also need saving.

I like your idea of having rare breed poultry and the use of papercrete is ingenious! Could your run be more predator proof with welded mesh rasher than chicken wire?

Great automatic door opener. Its abit past my skills to programme but it works well and all the info you need to build is included in the article.
Marek's is nasty. But it's not the end of the world. Just a different approach to how you manage your flock and tough decisions will have to be made.
