I've always loved this article and I really appreciate seeing your whole building process... for both coops. Your pictures (even without dimensions) document pretty well how anyone can build their own coop. Thanks for explaining what worked and what didn't.

Five stars for how your coop looks! But your article is lacking words. Some description of your build, materials used and some pics of the inside would be great.

Wish we could see the finished coop. Your building process was helpful and you came up with a good solution for the roost problem. Nice job!

From your run dimensions, you have enough space for maybe 2 chickens... minimum of about 10sf per bird. There doesn't seem to be any fencing in your neighborhood... so do you ever let them out to free range?

This looks like a super cute coop in a beautiful courtyard. Is it your own design or pre-fab?
Including some dimensions, a lot more details and how it's working out for you would make this a lot better article.

Cute jokes! Pictures should be separate with some explanation behind them. Need some dimensions, pics of the inside and a lot more information.

I see that you have stored your tools in there, but I don't see a place for the chickens to live.

Got a good start to the article but reading this is tedious. Not many pictures to go with a LOT of really TINY text. Nothing about the interior.

I really enjoyed reading this article. You've included lots of useful information (love the numbering system for your tips) and I don't think dimensions/specs are needed as you were already working with an existing structure. Great job showing how shed modifications can be done! Smart to incorporate separate living areas and the outdoor runs are amazing!

Fantastic playground for chickens. Some really fun ideas here, but how would someone build it? What it the layout? What materials did you use? Who built it? How long did it take? How much space on your property did you use? I see lots of feeders and nest boxes, but where do that many chickens go to roost at night? How many hens and roosters do you have? Any problems with predators? Really amazing chicken housing, but most of us other folks want more information.

This is one of the nicest coops I've seen... looks like you've thought of everything. Construction appears super sturdy and professional. Some great ideas. Is that vinyl on the poop boards AND up the wall behind as well? Because poop squirts everywhere! I especially love the large fully enclosed run.

Construction is clean and professional looking. Great photos!
Those tiny feeders will surely need to be switched out to some bigger ones soon.

This is a really beautiful looking coop and I'd love to see more of it. The videos aren't too helpful... first one filmed mostly at night and half of it's just a slide show. If those still photos were posted with some written explanation behind it, that would be so much better. The second video is not much better... camera's moving so fast it's enough to give a person motion sickness... can't really see any details about the coop. Too bad, because your construction look looks amazing and I'm sure lots of people would love plans.

What is the purpose of the coop sitting to two giant pallets? Other things don't make sense to me either. You only need one nest box per 4 hens... you have enough for like 70... wasted space. Chickens roost high and lay low... Roosts should be located higher than the nest boxes otherwise you'll end up with chickens sleeping (also pooping) in nests or laying eggs on the floor.
The coop exterior is attractive, I just think the inside needs a new arrangement.

It doesn't really seem like this coop is very secure to me. I know some people use this type of wide fencing if they know they don't have many predators around. But raccoons can easily reach right through this type of fencing and pull chickens out in pieces... why bother with a tricky gate latch? Especially when they're just as capable of unlatching simple hasps and opening sliding doors. I wouldn't put my chickens in this one.

What does the finished interior look like with chickens living in there? I'm so curious to know how the roosts and nest boxes are arranged inside, how your pop door works and any other features you may have. I really like your building progress photos. That outdoor covered run area is amazing! Beautiful eggs!!

But what about the interior? A square box can look nice, but it's the actual living space that counts. I'm sure everyone wants to see inside.
No instructions or plans. No close up photos or breakdown of the features. Better to include your written descriptions as it applies to each photo rather than post a bunch of photos then a bunch of writing at the end.

I can tell that you're really proud of your coop and chickens. But pictures of the inside and lots more details about how it was built would be a lot more helpful. Hope your dream of owning your own farm comes true!
